The basic assumption of all arguments this guy takes up is wrong. Satanic Verses isn't a declaration or a single viewpoint, it is a fictional story with diverse characters. All words that stand highlighted as offensive are mouthed by CHARACTERS and not by Rushdie himself. when writing a story, the author needs to have points and counter points, theses and antitheses. Deedat and millions of similar speakers lose their marbles when speaking on an issue which is at once sensitive yet inoffensive.
