I have run Platens for the last 4 years. When I first started using them I had never run one before, I had never even seen one before but these machines are brilliant machines and it didn't take me long to get to know them. I have now been made redundent and shafted by my boss so am now looking at getting a couple of Platens and going into business for myself.
i used to run four of these platens for a printers over in south london, the conditions of work were poor , and the pay was utter shit, but we had a wonderful time, till some tosser called Oppenheimer bought the company, and he saw what a crock of shit this place was, the directors really shoved it up Oppenheimer's arse.
really well done, with a nice view of most of the functions of a well maintained and nicely running machine. I'd like a closer look at the registration mechanism if possible. Thanks for posting.
Great Machine, i love the old Bookprinting Machines, like the Heidelberg Cylinder. I work as a Offsetprinter and i have learned to work on those old machines too and i love it.

I run kolbus foil blockers (hardback cases) at about 3000 cp/h. But I'd like one of these just for the engineering!

Very, very nice and artistic video of a platen. Am about to become the proud owner of a 1967 model and this video just inspires me! Thanks!
