I just flew recently on Spirit Airlines and I felt like this! The flight was super cheap ($9), but then they made you pay for everything including carry-on that goes above the seat, water, and extra for a suitcase that weighs more than 40lbs. I flew from amsterdam to toronto with KLM a dutch airline and I got about 4 free heinekens on the way aswell as snacks, meals and blankets headsets with tvs for every seat without having to pay any extra....same with the German Wings flight I took to prague, free beers, its seems to be only north american airlines that are a rip off.
