  • Cool spot . It's classic that a fat Mexican broad W/4 kids walk by. Are they legal?

  • great video man, it must be awesome to feel the vibe knowing the best commedians ever had walked there.

I was in LA last summer but unfortunately had no opportunity to visit this place.

    thanks

  • @adb123gjj123 - Your'e welcome! It did feel as if the spirits of Ollie and Stan were there with me...

  • Very Awesome... thanks for making this film

  • Typical barrio of LA. Damn taggers have to destroy everything!

    Lowlifes!

  • @MrUltimateforce I agree... too

  • @MrUltimateforce - I agree...

  • You are SO lucky! I hope the "Music Box" is available - I'm dying to see it now!

Thanks - this was cool :D

  • @MCMOOGIE - They show it once in a while on AMC, check the AMC website to see when they will show it again :)

  • Evan:

The film was filmed and released in 1932, not 1934.

  • Your'e right, thanks for the correction :)

  • You're a luck man.Living near to a legendary film location.

    Greetings from Germany

  • Thank you :) auf wiedersehen!

  • 4:18 Wouldn't it just be like some moron to deface a plaque to commemorate such a historical place in early American comedy?

There's always someone that has to pull shit like that. It's sad that people always have to take historical places and things and remind everyone else that THEY were there too by defacing it.

In any case, it's nice to see that SOMEONE put up a plaque to remind us of Stan and Ollie's venture to 1127 Walnut Avenue! Pianos will never be the same again! :-)

  • I agree with you 100%

  • Thanks Evan!

You're lucky, man. You live a stone's throw away from where Stan and Ollie did their best comedy ever!

It must be something to actually walk the steps and relive the moments from "The Music Box" as you walk the steps and let the memories soak in.

I know some would say "they're only steps" but they're the steps that Stan and Ollie walked on!

And that's special to me and I'm sure it means something to the residents of the area too, as well it should.

  • Actually I don't live in LA but I visit a lot.

  • You're still lucky though, to walk those steps and get the vibes. It must be something, man.

Wouldn't it be amazing if someone

from that neighborhood was still alive, and remembered when they were filming "The Music Box"?

Of course, this was 77 years ago, and someone of 20 would be almost 100 by now but you'd be in the company of living history, and in my book, a national treasure.

Again, you are very lucky to have had this chance, and to share it with us!

  • good job-you covered all the main stops and steps of the movie-nothing much has changed except extra railing on steps--well done-

there is a need of for location shots--i hope you do more if you live in L. a

  • I don't live in LA but I visit a lot. I just came back from LA actually and I have a couple more videos from movie locations that I will upload soon.

  • Does anybody know the name of the street where these stairs are? I'll be heading to LA next year to visit Curleys grave and want to stop by to take some pictures of the steps. Thanks Billy C.

  • Stairs are located on Vendome Street, a block from Sunset Blvd.

  • Very interesting. Also kinda sad though cos it all looks a bit ugly now.

  • They look so much more enclosed today. When you view the Laurel and Hardy film, the steps almost look bigger and wider. Guess because now theres more development surrounding them.

  • But you'll notice that house on the right is almost as old as the steps itself because you can see it in the movie! :)

  • i was there in 2006. It was awesome, but hilarious because there was a homeless dude passed out about midway up the steps.

  • LOL! You should have filmed him and put it up on youtube :)

  • These are the same steps the Three Stooges did their iceman scene

  • I heard it was different, somewhere in downtown LA near Pershing square I think?

  • I've visited those steps 3 times now. The first time was at night and they were so hard to find because I did not know exactly where they were. They look so different now because of all the new buildings. I also visited Culver City and the plaque where the Hal Roach studios were.

  • I've been to that location in Culver city. Over at the Culver city studios right? I was there a coule of months ago to watch a live taping of "Deal or No Deal"...

  • Yes. Also, check my short vid of Laurel & Hardy's house as used in the film "Perfect Day" That is in Culver City too and looks exactly the same as it did 75+ years ago.

  • Will do, thanks!

  • If you look at the film the steps ascend to the top on three different levels.

The exact same as in this posting.

  • isnt it possible all the steps have been replaced in the last 76 years?

  • The steps don't look anything like they did in the movie.

  • It's amazing to see how much all those years of urban development have altered the location.

And it's royally irritating to see that some little bastards have defaced the plaque marking it as a historical location.

  • I agree with you! These so called graffiti 'artists' aren't artists at all, but simple, common vandals...

  • I consider "taggers" to be like mangy little dogs, who have to lift their legs on everything they pass by, just to let whoever comes along next know that they were there. Fortunately, the next rain shower will wash away the dogs' "tags". The humans' "tags", however, can only be removed by extremely strong solvents & a lot of work.

  • Not what I expected to see awesome to know The Music Box was filmed there . Thanks for posting !
