Looking at what most of Danzig's songs are about, I don't see why you would say anyone with a brain would realize it's about cocaine and has nothing to do with the Bible. As a guitar player, I LOVE how this tune/album does not feature an overly distorted tone from the amp. Rythm and groove count here.

What I mean is, there is enough "musical space" between each instrument and vocals.

Too many albums have everything smeared into a pile of "metal".

What's funny is that Rick Rubin produced an ACDC album (Ballbreaker, underrated) and that George Drakouilias helped with the first Danzig album, and also produced The Cult's Electric (similar sounding to Danzig's first album) and the Black Crowes' first album, another "retro" album, but a different style of rock

@ZombiedustXXX , I guess what I'm getting at, is that the Rubin/Drackolias (spelling) team produced three of the best albums of the late 80s (Danzig, Electric and Shake Your Money Maker) and somehow made all three albums sound EXACTLY like they were recorded in 1973 or 74. None of these albums sound like anthing else that came out in 87, 88, or 90. They sound like like long lost discoveries. Just my opinion.

The Cult's earlier "Love" album was great, but had a droning lighter weight Brit sound. "Electric" was tight as hell, and American kickass to the core!

Not really a fan of bar bands, but The Black Crowes were at the top of the food chain when they broke through.
