  • my brother did this to his camry and put a few mods in it smoked most cars :)

  • this video made me laugh.

  • @fc662004 glad you liked it

  • Got a 00' camry, getting a sawzall tomorrow. I'll post a vid soon. Sick sound btw. Shouldn't redline it like that though.

  • @Steez420 thanks and actually in this video i didn't hit red line...i just revved it up nice and high and pumped the gas, lol

  • not my cup of tea... since its got v6 im guessin. my caddy is straight piped lol so thats why im not so pleased with the raspyness

  • @Dizzles its a 4 cylinder...and yeah a straight piped caddy would sound good, lol i have other videos where this camry was sounding better

  • @irishpimp1001 damn i picked up a 95 with a 4 cylinder. the car is just a beater for now its on bbs wheels i just gotta fix a few things but dont know if its worth it since its got 221k on it

  • @Dizzles I know if you treat them right they'll last....i fucked up and didn't pay close enough attention to an oil leak...engine ceased...ill never do that again

  • @irishpimp1001 i wanna do a v6 swap and convert it to 5spd manual.

  • sounds like a race car

  • @FPGT24 more like a piece of crap

  • @5cylcoupe what ever you say chief

  • Y LUEGO ???

  • I had this sound when my muffler had a hole in it! ^_^ same sound. I just welded the hole around and it stayd like this till this day!

  • @SergeyVA lmao...can't beat a free exhaust

  • dude sounds like it's cammed to hell... sweet

  • Camry's are the best sleepers.

  • wht is hp of this car ? plz

  • @krzzyboy i dont have the car anymore and i'm not sure what the hp was, but i lost power going straight piped...hope that helps you

  • @irishpimp1001 i ma thinking of doing this to my celica...was it a lot of power you lost... and if soo what muffler would you suggest

  • @driftking11013 for me not racing just liking to drive fast the hp loss wasn't that bad, i didn't really notice it til i put a cherry bomb glasspack on the mid pipe....so the exhaust was still straight piped except for the glasspack on the mid pipe, that is when i felt a sudden gain in power, the car was snappy, fast off the line, could get a chirp from the tires if the conditions were right...b4 the car died i loved the set up with that exhaust and my cheap SRI, it drove the best then

  • @krzzyboy probaby 125 unless its a v6

  • not good to hold at the tach.

  • I think you got yourself a leak.

  • @TooManySnakes haha probably, this car is the one that i learned most of my welding on, so lots of mistakes made and learned from

  • Nice rev limiter, thats legit!

  • @450God haha actually in this video i wasn't hitting the rev limiter, i was just hitting the gas pedal like that, if i remember right i was too scared to hit rev limiter, lol

  • @irishpimp1001 LOL i have a 92 and a 93 and i've hit it plenty of times i used to have the muffler cut off my 92 and didnt sound half bad! btw if you slap cold air intake on this you get a real thoaty sound its awesome

  • @irishpimp1001 LOL i have a 92 and a 93 and i've hit it plenty of times i used to have the muffler cut off my 92 and didnt sound half bad! btw if you slap cold air intake on this you get a real thoaty sound its awesome

  • @iceman2054 when i had this car i liked how to short ram intake sounded...but on my girl's scion tc the cold air intake sounds sweet, it has a whistle to it, lol

  • @irishpimp1001 What does ram air sound like? cold air sounds sic

  • @iceman2054 short ram air intake has a bit of a louder induction sound since the pipe is shorter...both short ram and cold air intakes sound great but in the end any modified intake sounds good, lol

  • @irishpimp1001 Fo sho! later on down the road i'm lookin into gettin a v6 from a 97ish year and puttting a trd turbocharger on it

  • Awesome! Just Awesome!

  • @astroboyracer247 thanx alot =D

  • i messed my pants from 0:13 to 0:17

  • wtf? straight shit sounding

  • @jlittlethc thanx for the view and comment =D

  • thats how mine was. only cuz there was a gaping hole in the flex pipe lol

  • my favorite thing ever...its an LE so i know its an automatic. Automatic + that sound = uber fail

  • i accept your opinion....but let me ask....why does it matter what tranny i have? and also let me point out that you clicked on a video with a title that said "straight piped" did you expect a different sound?

  • @05Forenza you just said uber fail...fag

  • Ghetto Blaster!!..LOL

  • @roaming1978

     lmao

  • FAILED!!!!

  • @maxis3117 i don't think so lmao =D

  • funny lol

  • Yep, sounds like a four cylinder with bad exhaust.

  • well the title said "'96 camry straight piped" i hope you weren't expecting a V8...hahaha but thanx for the view and comment =D

  • Very nice .. would love to take mine off but the cops would become my best friends =( ...

  • oh that sucks =/

  • I have got a sports exhaust fitted it will do me fine for now .. have not been pulled up yet so it must be ok =)

  • depending on the cop and the state...as long as you have a catalytic converter it shud be ok...thats just for emissions...which is needed even in florida where they don't even do emissions test, it's still the law....it just can't be too loud...some states are stricter then others on that and likewise with cops...but as long as your not flooring it past a cop you shud be fine, lol

  • Hahaha yeah i dont think flooring it past the cops would help at all .. oh and sorry i am not in the USA i am in australia laws here say it cant go over 90 decibels..

  • oh got cha, lol...you shud make a video of yours so i can hear it, i'm interested lol

  • haha yeah ok i will try when i get time but its not going to be as good as yours mate lol

  • its all good lol no worries

  • O, With mine they said the oil pan gasket had fallen off and the day before i got it fixed i went through 4 quarts of oil.

  • oh wow, well mine went a few months, and i assume ran with out oil for a bit of time too, i think what helped is it had some slick 50 oil treatment in it, and that creates a ceramic coating on the inside causing less friction. at least thats what my dad said lol

  • record a drive away one day :)

  • sorry buddy, but i no longer have this car, it had a oil leak, and i didn't change the oil or add oil for a long time, and it made the engine cease up ='-( that was dumb on my part

  • ehh that sucks no more videos then ok =[[[

  • sounds like a problem my 99 i4 had but i just caught it in time after a whole bunch of smoke and the car randomly shutting off

  • sounds like the oil was getting into the cylinders, mine had a problem with the seal on the oil pan, it would drip near this one bolt that held up the oil pan, and when i would tighten the bolt it would stop for a lil while

  • fukin deadly u haved to be irish

  • how is it not straight piped if there is no muffler and all u see is a pipe :) and a dual tip :)

  • cause the term straight piped refers to nothing being on the exhaust....no cat no resonator no muffler, so if thats all you did was remove the muffler then its not really straight piped.... what u have is an axle back exhaust, cause from the rear axle back as been changed on the exhaust, in ur case u removed the muffler...you know what i'm saying?

  • eh OK i guess u know more them me

  • lol, i learned most of my stuff about cars by doing it my self and reading comments and asking questions on you tube =)

  • hmmm and axle back exhaust has a muffler i see in the videos on youtube

  • yes your right, the term axle back exhaust refers to the altered part of the exhaust that is after the back axle, in your case there is no muffler, most ppl don't do that but it is still an axle back exhaust, the term straight piped is referring to the entire exhaust system and the fact that there is nothing on the exhaust....so in ur case i guess you could say "straight piped from the resonator back"

  • my dad straight piped his 94 camry he just toook off the muffler and it sounds nice!

  • technically if all you did was remove the muffler, then its not straight piped, lol...but yeah thats awesome if you like that sound thats good cause you'll still pass emissions tests if you have to...lol

  • shit how uch did dat cost im tryna get mine like dat

  • to go straight piped is pretty cheap if u do it ur self, i bought all the lengths of pipe at discount auto parts they are like 14 inch lengths that cost about $7 each, so all u hafta do is figure out how many lengths of pipe you'll need and then cut away at ur exhaust and replace the things that are on there with pipe...all i did was cut right b4 the cat and right after and take it out and replace with pipe and so on and so fourth..about $42 on pipes and i wielded it my self 2 save money =)

  • is straight pipe legal in CA?

  • sadly no in cali you guys have to pass an emissions test and if you fail then your looking at a ticket i think, and from what i hear the cops are all over cars that are too loud, because they might be straight piped

  • i got a 91 toyota camery, i gonna take the muffler off and give it a go now haha. hope it sounds good

  • if you just take the muffler off then it wont be that loud at all, so after u take the muffler off take the resonator off and leave the cat and it will sound quite nice, or just take everything off like i did, lol 0_o

  • by taking it all off , like right in the engine bay sorta thing?

  • no dnt do that you'll loose all your horse power, just replace each thing with pipe to fill the gap, so if your gonna take off the muffler then put pipe in its place to bring it back out from under the car, if u take the resonator off replace what ever u cut away with pipe, you no what i mean? lol.....auto zone or pep boys or discount auto parts or any auto part store shud have like 14" lengths of pipe that work well for this type of project

  • So wat exactly did u do???

  • ok on my exhaust there was a catalictic(spelling?) converter, then a resenator and then the muffler, i replaced them all with piping so its just straight 2" pipe going all the way back comming off of the headers

  • Soundss nicee my dude, the camera didnt pick it up well though

  • really? i think my camera sounded great, there are plenty of crappy qulity videos on here where you cnt even tell what your listening to, lol

  • Hmm... Thinkin of cutting off my muffler and going like this. I know some civics that are 10 times louder and more raspy and they don't get pulled over by cops... hmm....

  • yeah i guess florida cops dont really care, in the end if you want to tame it down a bit you can always run to pep boy's and get a 20 dollar cherry bomb glasspack and use it like a resonator, it really does make a difference in the sound, thats how mine ended up before it died on me, i just never got a video of it =( but i really loved the sound with that glass pack on there

  • wats up i got a 93 and was wondering wat rpm was it hitting the rev limiter

  • actually in this video i was too scared to push it to the rev limiter cause i didn't no how far it was, lol so in this video i was just bouncing the rpms with my foot, latter on i did hit the limiter and it was right around 6K to 65K somewhere right in there

  • This sounds really nice at idle and low revs.

  • thanx alot =) i agree

  • ew.

    put a resonator on it

  • why would you leave a comment like that on a video that says "STRAIGHT PIPED" i understand that this sound isn't favored by all, but "straight piped" still has a fan club, just read my other comments, so all i am trying to say is u knew what the video was goin to be like before u watched it, so if u dnt like the sound of a straight piped car why watch this one? lol

  • nice!!!

  • thanks alot =)

  • how'd you remove the resonator and where is it in the exhaust system?

  • i removed it with a saws-all i just cut it off and replaced it with pipe from discount autoparts they sell it for like 7 bucks for a 14" length, thats wut i did for the cat and the muffler. the resonator is the long skinny muffler looking thing, its usually right before the muffler (second to last thing on the pipe)...some cars are dif. but most cars exhaust system looks like this from the start to the end u have the catalytic converter, then the resonator, then the muffler...hope this helps =)

  • alright, thanks. I have an aftermarket exhaust on my camry (Magnaflow) but it just doesn't sound anywhere as mean (in a great way) as yours.. I'll try to find the resonator on mine but I think I already had it removed when I took the car to a shop to change the muffler.. cause they changed the whole pipe behind the muffler to fit the new one on, so i dunno..

  • something else that would hold back the meanNESS would be the cat, the stock cats are very restrictive, u can buy a high flow cat but they can get pricy, since i live in florida i dnt haft worry about emissions test, so i just got rid of it all together...i do get my check engine light on because of it though

  • nice, i can't get rid of my cat tho, calif. carb emissions requirement. I don't even think my SW intake will pass smog check so i kept my old air filter.

  • yeah i have my old air box so that i can change it back to stock if i want to for wut ever reason, lol...i have heard of ppl passing emissions tests with high flow cats i dnt know if its a special brand or what but i guess it is possible

  • You can just unbolt it after the catalytic converter and move the muffler pipe to the side and let it hang with couple of wires. Although its ghetto, it still does the job and its easy to put back

  • yeah i did that on my buddys scion tc, he didn't want me just hacking away at his exhaust...lol

  • LOL!!!!!

Can't wait to do this some time...
