  • I have just watched this film on Lovefilm, and as some of the comments have said, Richard Burton was absolutely awesome in this film. I love it when he says "I will bring the whole edifice down on their unworthy heads", that speech is awesome. But in this video, he says it with such drama and he knows how to capture the audience. Thank you very much for sharing. Richard Burton Rules!!

  • @damouk23 I know.... only he can say it like that.... :)

  • The acting is so good it almost outweighs the frightening truth of what he says.

  • @SpeedKingRick Excellent comment! Burto at his very very best.... GREAT scene...

  • I recall this scene from many years ago. Excellent!!!

  • @FrankClanton

    like you??

Burton and Ventura are two brilliant actors, it's an

    exiting thriller

  • Burton never could act at all and Ventura was dubbed.

  • This film was a piece of fucking CRAP.

  • Sorry, pal!...You're comment is meaningless in the face of this...You can thank 'The Almighty Nothing' that the meaning in this vid is even more powerful that your obvious and blind negativity!...Talk about your own affliction if you must, but not other's.

  • @JuanMacready do you think cancer is something people should have to go thru?

if so your a sick fucking cunt

  • You do know that the alcoholic Burton smoked 60-100 cigarettes a day?

  • @JuanMacready its called addiction it happens to people including me i don't smoke that many a day but still you can't blame people for that!

  • What, you already smoke at 15? I know Burton had started by the time he was eight but of course it was different then because children could buy cigarettes.

  • @JuanMacready yes i do smoke i started at 13!

  • Do you drink? It said Burton drank alcohol every day from the age of 14 until he was 48.

  • @JuanMacready no i don't only on occasions!

  • Do please forgive me @archangelcharlie...LOL...My lines got crossed....Lovely section of the vid.....THAN_Q for uploading!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

  • 'Don't know....try uploading it from your bebo!!!!

  • i'm sorry...I think I might be the man your looking for.....with the power to create catastrophyyyyyy!!!LOL..XXX

  • Well, Richard Burton's character does cause a fair bit of death and destruction in this film despite the pacifist aims he states in his speech. I am always wary of holier-than-thou pacifists, I feel they protest too much and are often, not always, just trying to cover up a violent side to their own nature. Other examples in the world of films include Robur in Master of the World and Wesley in Forrest Gump.

  • The dark, eerie truth behind what he says has never been more prevalent in the world than in recent years.

  • fucking brillant

  • Superb film... Thanks for putting this up.

  • There are more tears than smiles. There is more sea than earth. One day the insupportable grief of mankind will sweep over this land, and an ark will float over that liquid expression of mysery.... So true.... and its happening now.

  • Great upload, archangelcharlie! Thank you.

Best, most underrated film of ALL TIME!

Burton was the dog's bollox! Pity he was WELSH!! lol

    ;-D

  • Remake it with Russell Crowe......in the Lee Remick role of course.

  • Comment removed

  • Ha ha, very funny. But whenever I see Russell Crowe on film I am reminded of Richard Burton. There isn't just a similarity in appearance, the voices are similar too.

  • That's because they are both chain smokers.

  • burton was amazing!

  • Thacther barrister ? 1978 ? medusa ?

  • Thatcher barrister you say? On the contrary, more on the line of Guy Fawkes.

  • great writing, but RB goes into his let's-get-this-over-with-quick lack of real interest sing-songiness that plagues his every long speech.

  • i put it to you, that you are in point of fact

an over pade free loading profession, aurafully good wordworths though.

  • that him out of the maisons. no more snob dinner dances

  • one of my favorite movies

  • I find Burtons courtroom scene ......RIVITING

  • Man, I loved this movie since I was a kid. I think is a great movie. Burton was fantastic here. Thanks for sharing.

  • You're welcome! This is such a great scene, I couldn't resist.

  • I finally found this movie... i always remembered the crumbling cathedral and the screetching brain monitor everytime his mind will act up and bring disaster to someone! Haay! loved this film... :-) thanks for sharing it here..

  • A great scene from a very underrated film, and one of Burton's best performances.

  • absolutely. If I grow old and acquire a voice like that I'll be happy.

  • Well it took a lifetime of hard drinking and smoking for Richard Burton to get a voice like ... Richard Burton.

I've already got a voice like Richard Burton without going anywhere near a cigg or a drink.

And its bound to get deeper as I get older.

  • I'm sorry to hear that this film was an underrated film. I think it has a good script, and suspense, and great acting. Even the incidental music works too well. The dialogues are interesting. I think is a great horror movie.
