This is Bernie Torme's 'punk metal' style interpretation of a song he used to play (for a very short 3 weeks) in the past. He's not trying to 'be' Randy Rhodes, this is the style in which he has always played.
Goddamn this is awful. And don't a fucking one of you come back at me saying" Oh Bernie Torme was Randy Rhodes immediate successor!" Yeah that was fucking Jet Records doing that shit. Fact is: ANY of the successors other than Bernie Torme were great and yes I'm even including Joe Holmes here! This is garbage, plain and simple. Don't defend it, just accept it for what it is.
@clockworkmike83 Who cares about your stupid opinion... lmfao !!!! Rock guitar is better played sloppy ! Screw note-for-note guys, they have NO soul !!!
guys u have to understand that Bernie is a heritage of rock. did u remember him in the gillan era? that was craaaaazzzyyyyy!!! for me it was the best age of rock, so stop reclaim, and shut up. im sure that anyone here plays better then him. fuck! before u guys reclaim more yet, listen to Mr Universe, by Ian Gillan and if u guys really like rocknroll u gonna like it . and then u gonna change opinion about Bernie. im sure
Ozzy never wanted Bernie in the first place...The record company was the reason Torme was ever involved. Read Ozzy's book. In this video, Torme sounds like a sloppy teenage player auditioning for a garage band.... The "Dime bombs" are AWFUL!! Has he even played since the 80's? doesn't sound like he's practiced whatsoever...He obviously hasn't been near a metronome in a long time, his meter is all over the place. WTF is up with that shitty and disturbing bass player? Liberace/El Duce??
@1killahead You are wrong about everything! Torme joined as the money was good, but it was only meant to be temporary as he had just started his own (much better) band. Of course, they lied about the money anyway, but Ozzy gave him a Strat as a thankyou and at the time said that he played like a star (under difficult circumstances with little time to rehearse). Ozzy doesn't remember much and changes what he thinks from one interview to the next.
Btw, as far as I understand "snickers", Bernie "dropped out", Ozzy didn't "boot" him. Ozzy was very greatful for Bernie and praised his performances. I tried listening to the "Bernie Torme Diaries" (Madison Square Garden) but the sound quality didn't allow for me to rightly judge his performance for myself.
"Bum"? Ozzy apparently disagrees with you. Ozzy has had nothing but praise for Bernie, and the two expressed mutual respect for one another. "Bum" is a harsh word, maybe you're a "bum"? Did you play with Ozzy? Bernie was given a shot at replacing Prince Randy on extremely short notice, not having any familiarity with the material and tossed into the spotlight. Grant it, you are judging his performance here in this clip, which isn't my cup of tea either, but I'm not going to call the man a "bum".
if you dont like this, you are a tone deat kunt.,fuk off and listen
to n-dubz or mr green or what ever shite the fashion victims are into now.
why would anyone spend time commenting on a video they did not like, maybe when you have sex and move out of yer mums, you may develop a taste in music.
I don't mean any disrespect because I could never play that but that was not good. I have seen local cover band guitar players play that way better. Who am I to judge though, I just didn't like it.
Anyone who slags Bernie? you go up there reproduce what he is doing then eat your words, illiterate bastards!

Randy would love this; a man not copying but following his own sound.
I am a huge Randy Rhoads fan but love Bernie's gusty playing and this is a great interpretation IMHO

It isn't very good. The bass player looks like Rob Halford crossed with some sort of ancient Egyptian priest.
