I go to NYU tisch and Todd has done a lot of work-shopping with us; I have spent a lot of time with him. He IS like Woody Allen in demeanor and in some of his philosophies on good film-making. Strange and fascinating, just like his films. He has such a clear and un-apologetic way of thinking that is refreshing and inspiring always. I don't think he is underrated because he makes films for small audiences that appreciate his brilliance. He doesn't make films for everyone. Thanks for the post!

thanks for posting this. todd solondz will probably go down in history as one of the most underrated directors in modern cinema. it just pisses me off. i met him on the street randomally a few months ago. he's a very nice dude.
