Lol I bought the a GOTY Edition for Oblivion and it came with Knights of The Nine and Shivering Isles, the funny part is buying the GOTY edition is cheaper than buying The Shivering Isles alone.
I can assure you this is one of the largest expansion pack I've ever seen;
The main quest of this expansion pack is way longer and interesting than Oblivion itself, beside the main quest line there are dozens of side-quests in this expansion
It's about 50 hours total gameplay and a total new area to explore
@aznnikeboxerpauly oblivion is a open world game, you dont have to do any of the main quest if you dont want to, or u could do shivering's quest before oblivions. Oblivion forces you to do nothing, it puts you into a huge world and lets you do what you want, if you WANT to do the main quest just go to where it starts, same with shivering, theres a door that opens in the oblivion map and u just go to it, oh and you do still start off in the vanilla oblivionj, you just travel to Shivering isles

For some reason after I installed the expansions and slept for 24 hrs... @raiders545 Yeah, I plan on curing my vampirism before diving into the Shivering Isles. It's too much of a pain not being able to be in the sun. The stat increases will be sorely missed :( I just went through each guild, then beat the main quest. I'm playing the game too structured :P

"A Strange Door" The go to Niben bay (right next to Bravil, it should give you a map marker) and that's where it is. IF you need any help getting there use the uesp.net (the elder scrolls wikia)

Is it just me or does Oblivion have some depressing place names? I mean, The Inn of Ill Omen, Corridors of Dark Salvation, Hill of Suicide. I mean, come on, lighten up a bit!
Sheogorath was my favorite character. He was everything a NPC needs (sometimes), funny, perfect voice acting, very random, and just over all being the most lovable character in the game.
Shivering Isles seemed longer than the Main Quest for me. The Main Quest was just, save Kvatch, talk to blades, get a few items for Martin, kill Camoran, Martin saves Empire.
I really wanted to buy this DLC for Oblivion but there is no way im gonna pay the 2400 microsoft points that their asking for it. Does anyone else think that this is a complete rip off? It must be nearly 4 or 5 years old now and I got the actual game for about half that price.

@ADRIEL296 Shivering Isles is an expansion for Oblivion. You can't play it by itself, you have to also have Oblivion. That said, you could buy Oblivion Game of the Year edition which includes the original game along with the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions.

I had purchased the standard version of oblivion for PC. The only reason I got this expansion was so I could have some cooler mods that only worked if I had this. I don't regret it. :P
I thought this expansion was a major disappointment as it is supposed to be this dimension that represents the realm of insanity and madness and yet it looks so mundane, kinda like Morrowind.

i hit him with my sword and he teleported me to mid air....lol it was funny then i loaded a save and hit him with a bow ....same result then loaded and used staff.... same thing it was fun though

Is it just me or does Oblivion have some depressing place names? I mean, The Inn of Ill Omen, Corridors of Dark Salvation, Hill of Suicide. I mean, come on, lighten up a bit!

Shivering Isles seemed longer than the Main Quest for me. The Main Quest was just, save Kvatch, talk to blades, get a few items for Martin, kill Camoran, Martin saves Empire.
but it was a short MQ in the first place

I really wanted to buy this DLC for Oblivion but there is no way im gonna pay the 2400 microsoft points that their asking for it. Does anyone else think that this is a complete rip off? It must be nearly 4 or 5 years old now and I got the actual game for about half that price.

i borrowed oblivion from my friend, and i dont have the game anymore, but i still kept my lvl 23 file saved. So, if i buy the Shivering Isles game at like gamestop or something, then will i be able to play my saved file from oblivion by using the shivering isles disc? And i dont want GOTY edition or buy it off the online game store.

@valor380 No because this is a DLC for Oblivion you have to have the orginal Oblivion disc to play this

I have been considering for some time whether I should get this "The Shivering Isles" or "Knights of the Nine". I can understand if some might think this question silly because of the hours of gameplay ratio between the two, but please give your opinion.

@ADRIEL296 Shivering Isles is an expansion for Oblivion. You can't play it by itself, you have to also have Oblivion. That said, you could buy Oblivion Game of the Year edition which includes the original game along with the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions.

I had purchased the standard version of oblivion for PC. The only reason I got this expansion was so I could have some cooler mods that only worked if I had this. I don't regret it. :P

I thought this expansion was a major disappointment as it is supposed to be this dimension that represents the realm of insanity and madness and yet it looks so mundane, kinda like Morrowind.

it was great when it came out for like 3 years ago, i was stoked on the graphics and so on, but i played it a week ago, and i freaking laughed, it wasnt good at all, the graphics wasnt good, (probobly cause the grapchis on every game has changed so feaking much) but yea whatever, its old and so, but probobly the elder scrolls 5 is gonna be fcking epic
