Honestly pokemon was the only game where at the end your play time wasn't 20 hours or 30 hours. As a child i legitamitely put hundreds of hours into these games, it makes me happy and sad at the same time to think about it.

@MasterOfShuppets Well, for one, it has a quite shallow movepool for one. It may be a good defensive pokemon, but defense is really not what you need to beat HG/SS. You need power, and Meganium doesn't have that power. Try beating the whole game with just the Meganium evolution line. 5/8 gym leaders resist its core STAB move, and 3 of those gym leaders can decimate it with bug, flying, and poison(Yes, all of Morty's pokemon are poison type). And its ok.

From what I recall, what people say made her so hard in G/S/C was how much hax Rollout got by constantly hitting every turn, along with having a recovery move in the form of Milk Drink. I suppose the anime directors knew about this, since she's (Whitney is) the Johto Leader Ash lost to and had to have a re-match with after learning from defeating one of Team Rocket's machines.
