this is a complete and utter guess but considering ive never used after effects b4 im thinking, for the ground falling, did u just cut around whatever and shrink it, then take more pieces and shrink them? (If its not right people dont flame me...)

no, it doesn't. It lets you basically set the radius of what will be shattered. Then you can set its physics properties to do what I did and make the pieces fall instead of explode out, which is what its default settings do.
