ill say it to ur face i've played hockey all my life along with other sports to (football, and yes RUGBY!) but none of them come close to cordination and skill u need to play hockey, now rugby may seem a little tougher beacuse they dont wear padding so instead of a sharp cutting hit in hockey u get a bone-crushing impact. and what makes u think its pointless? its just as pointless as any other sport.

There is no perfect sport, each sport has its own aspect that draws its unique crowd of people, and barbaric is a strong word to be throwing around, you cant not mention rugby, brutal but cool too :)

Oh it hardly exists in Bulgaria too :) But i still watch many matches trough internet. Yes it may be primitive at moments but the crowd wants some violence. It pumps the adrenaline on the high. So if someone tells you: hey imagine a sport with speed, adrenaline, technique, hits, action, teamplay and often everything is decided in the last seconds. Most people will tell: bah such sport doesn't exist. But yes it exists - hockey includes these characteristics.
