i think this song is saying you could learn all this stuff about god but if you don't apply it its not worth any thing.Just because you know his name doesn't mean your going to heaven.the title kind of explains god doesn't go for stuff that is cheap/fake/not all that it can be.

idk ive heard that ryan always questions faith/religion and may even have problems with them, hence vutures and x amount the truth, so i think this song is more of a song about questioning christian beliefs and how he will put off until he is dead when it really wont matter any more

i understand ur point.Music can be interpreted different ways.On an ap chat ryan says quote" i am in no way against god" unquote.He actually has alot of faith.he said the song applies to belief systems in general.basically ryan stated that the song says that there comes a point in ur devotion when books,saint,doctrines,etc mean nothing and you only have faith.what if there was no faith and only a book w/ the answers right there. would u do anything about it?if u were a sinner would you change?
