Do photoresistors come in bigger sizes? Like in 2 inch diameters? At some point the laser diffuses and the resistance is too low to complete the circuit and the led goes on.
im haveing an issue with mine....with mine insted of my buzzer only comeing on when the light is broken from the photocell, it only comes on when i have light on the photocell...so its working backwords and idk why..can you help?
i just reread your post. i don't think it's working backwards. if the buzzer sounds when the light hits the photocell then it's working as designed since this is a light detecting circuit. you want a dark detecting circuit to sound the buzzer when the beam to the photocell is broken.
@Studio1991 dang. i just watched the vid again. think i got that backwards. adam is showing a dark detecting circuit. the laser on the photoresistor is shutting down power to the LED.
electronics is my fort-ta and that circuit is so primitive it made me sleep.... but it's a pretty good educational demonstration of an electronic principle of a photo-resistor
@higoten1993 well it was done because I had nothing to do... The few vids I do have uploaded are me for the younger kids.. I know that you remember when you first got into simple electronics that "Primitive" stuff was what it was about....
If u measured the resistance of the lit photocell. Would it help to find out the other resistor's needed resistance if you used ohms law? Btw awesome video!

@5cdrw700l yes but I dont think that you will find them in 2 inch, more like 1 inch

Awesome video, I am actually finding my spare photocell as we speak to make this. Thank you for putting the awesome idea in my head!
