@bburum Yeah the keytar changes the pitch - I'm running it through the vocoder as the "carrier signal," so the pitch and other timbral qualities are determined by what I play and what sound I use on the keytar. Then the mic runs through as the "modulatory signal" and controls the modulation of the keytar's signal.
@warrengoss1970 Thank you! I actually do make originals and will be releasing my next "album" at the end of the summer. All of these songs can be heard on my other youtube channel "BesiegedByKeyzzz" if you'd like to check them out! I am still learning the ropes of production, so my next "album" coming out soon is a lot better than my last one. All the music is also available for free download on soundcloud also under "Besieged By Keyzzz." If you check it out, I hope u like it! Thanks again!
@dadankibortea Thank you! I actually use a software vocoder (instead of an external hardware kind.) Just a free plugin I found online. I simply pan (on the mixer) the audio from the ax-synth all the way to the right and the audio from the vocals all the way to the left and the plugin takes care of the rest. I think external hardware type vocoders simply have a carrier signal input and a modulator signal input and you just plug in the respective instruments with TRS or XLR.
@TheReaper17 Thanks man! I did use the ax synth tone as the carrier signal for the vocoding, and I filmed the recordings so everything you see in the video is also what you are hearing.
duuuuuude this beats the crap out of How to Make a Steam Cannon... nice to see somebody did something awesome over the summer haha. Did you seriously record all those noises (like the whip and tickets rubbing together and the cat) and use them in the song?! That was craaaazy
@xpxzampop Thanks man. I did record all those noises you hear/see. But I don't know about beating How to Make a Steam Cannon, that vid is so well done it takes film to a whole new level.

Did you use the keytar to change pitches with the vocoder or was that separate?
