@dualcaster It's supposed to be Vikemon, but he isn't here because of fan politics. A lot of fans get mad at you if you don't say that Vikemon evolves from Kido Joh's Zudomon, even though he doesn't. Brave Tamers and the D-3 Ver. 3 prove that Vikemon evolves from Hida Iori's Shakkoumon.

@MrDuckymon That line is wrong. Whenever you see anything about Digimon on the Internet, especially about evolutions, question its authenticity if you can't trace it back to an original Japan source with Bandai or Toei's (and Hongô Akiyoshi)'s trademark on it.

There are games and Digivices that are complementary to the anime half of the series for Digimon Adventure, ZeroTwo and Tamers, and they, along with the D-Terminal, all agree that Hida Iori's Shakkoumon evolves into Vikemon.

Anyone else notice that Armaillomon had alternate names for his armour digivolutions?, Veemon had flames of courage and storming friendship Hawkmon had wings of love and samurai of sencerity(how ever its spelt) Gatomon had angel of light and Patamon had flying hope while Armadillomon had drill of power and guardian of the seas.

No mention of knowledge or reliabilty even though he did a pratabout once saying drill of knowledge.

@riicky83 It's just the dub making yet another extra joke =Þ Don't read too much into it. From what I remember, the original was always consistent. The dub also changed the phrases of all of the Armour Evolutions.

@und3adars3nal Shakkoumon is the Perfect level ("Ultimate (dub)" in the dub). He's in this video :P

Vikemon is the Final level ("Mega" in the dub). Iori's Vikemon only shows up in Tag Tamers, D1 Tamers, Brave Tamer and the D-Terminal. But this video is based off of the animated appearances, so that's why he isn't here.

Also, people tend to get upset if you say that Vikemon doesn't evolve from Joh's Zudomon, since they aren't aware of the WS series, so that's why Vikemon is there instead of here.

@leo16mmiv I didn't realize it had anything to do with Japanese history, and frankly I could care less about what they were trying to incorporate into the digimon. It looks nothing like it's predecessors. If they wanted to make something that tied in with Japanese culture/history, why couldn't they make a whole 'nother digimon?

@TheIshoda It really has to do with what Digimon is as well. Digimon aren't "supposed to evolve into forms that look similar to its predecessors", and they very rarely do. Actually, Adventure 02 was the very beginning of evolutions designed to looked like their "predecessors".

With that in mind, I don't care at all that Shakkoumon doesn't look like Ankylomon, and that Vikemon doesn't look like Shakkoumon. It's what the creators meant, and it doesn't conflict with anything that came before it.

You can take this argument any which way, but I really would've liked it if they continued with a more familiar look. If they want all this way making the digivolved forms look similar, why not continue? I guess the Digimon changed too much for my comfort and I was ultimately disappointed with the final product.

@TheIshoda Well, it's fine to have your own opinion at least =) And I respect that. I personally do like Shakkoumon, and I couldn't imagine a better evolution for Iori's Ankylomon without making it seem stale, but that's my own opinion.

However, I would like to ask you one more question about your opinion. If he managed to evolve to the Final level, like Pile Dramon did into Imperial Dramon, would you have felt better about it?

@TheIshoda Well, I'm not sure in that case ^^; We do know, thanks to the D-3 version 3.0 (with the help of Digimon Adventure 02: Tag Tamers or D1 Tamers), Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer and the D-Terminal that Iori's specific Shakkoumon evolves into Vikemon.

But yeah, I guess if anything this is just another example of what I meant earlier. It might be even more difficult to expect Vikemon from Armadimon at first.

@gabumonboys Let me clear that up, "scientists" (what kind?) don't think that :p And if they have, they have not published one paper on it. Also scientists aren't historians, so they would have no comment on this.

The last Digimon is a Dogū, which is a clay statue. Shakkoumon is based off of ShakōkiDogū. The purposes of Dogū are unknown, but they were most likely just effigies for people who had passed away.

Besides, if @micstar615 puts Sea Homon in, he'd have to also put in Pteramon who at least shows up in Digimon Adventure 02: Road Towards Armour Shinka, as well as Boarmon, Sepikmon, Frogmon, Sheepmon, *Sea Homon*, Chamelemon and Elephamon who also only show up in the D-3 as Zero Two-official.

@Psythr666 Yes, it's supposed to be Vikemon, according to the D-3 ver. 3 (the Digimon Adventure 02 version of the Digivice), Digimon Adventure 02: D1 Tamers and Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer. D1 Tamers and Brave Tamer are in continuity with Adventure 02, and it's Hida Iori's Ankylomon in both games. IIRC, the D-Terminal also confirms this.

The reason why @micstar615 didn't put it is probably because people will attack you on Youtube if you say that Zudomon doesn't evolve into Vikemon.

That's understandable, even though most digimon have interconnecting digivolutions. Ex. Puppetmon's in-training for is the same one as Palmon and Biyomon, yet viral digivolves into Mushroomon instead of a vaccine based digimon.

@Psythr666 Mhmm, that's true =) Though, the Chosen Children's Digimon all have established evolutionary lines from Baby to Final/Ultimate. However, I wouldn't say that they break the rule that Digimon all have interconnection evolutions (except for usually very new Digimon or one-shot Digimon). The potential is there, just never used. Besides, their established evolution is kind of a part of who they are.

It's a little more complicated than the example that you gave but I know what you mean =P

@mitchel19942504 I think the problem could be in how you see Jogress (dub: DNA Digivolution). A Jogress doesn't have to look like either of the Digimon that it had came from. Of all the known Jogresses, only Omegamon, Millenniumon, Piledramon, Silphymon and Chaosmon (IIRC) look like actual fusions.

The first 5 Jogresses were Jagamon, Piccolomon, Tonosama Gekomon, Saber Leomon and Metal Etemon. Would you like to guess which Digimon they Jogressed from? =P

rosemon came out in 1999 i beleive, she was one of the original megas, so she came before roselia too! but roselia looks quite different from Rosemon, Roserade looks kind of similar i'd say (with the cape and the womenly figure)
