  • Waaooo very nice .... I love this video .... Very classic and nostalgic .... I was trying to figure out what I was up to in May 1982, and realize I was just ending my third year of High School in NYC. Thanks for sharing.

  • The Wings of Man!

  • Delightful music!

  • Wow, Eastern Airlines! That's an airline from the past! I recall them being the official "Disney Airline"! Cheers!

  • I adored Eastern Airlines and the 727 was my favorite. Thanks for posting!

  • could have been good...ruined by the bloody music, though!

  • 4 people flew a CRJ

  • An Eastern DC-10 with a Continental 727 passing behind it at 0:13. Now-a-days, it'd be a 777 and a 73-8, probably.

  • I worked at EA for 21 years, sure miss it.

  • 1982 was the year I was born, amazing! I remember when Eastern, Pan Am, and Twa use to fly!

  • Thanks...and for "Finally" a videographer with soundtrack skill. Would have made a nice television spot.....footage, and music.

    Well done!

  • I remember when EAL 727s were painted in the "falcon" color scheme, like the DC*s and Connies. But the "hockey stick" scheme was also sharp!

  • Thanks so much for posting this. My first flight ever was aboard an Eastern 727, from Newark (EWR) to Atlanta (ATL) in October 1987.

  • Very nice! My Grandfather flew the 727 for Eastern. He said it was his second favorite behind the DC9

  • What route was this on?

  • @AcepilotC172 This flight was going to Charlotte.

  • EAL - theres as only one! RIP!!

  • In 1969 as a high school senior, with a buddy, visited O'Hare on a Friday night. Walked through terminal buildings unhindered. Visited the international gates--planes gone for the evening; no one at the gates; no one around. In all, it took us 1+ hour to walk from a nearby ground parking lot (where the airport hotel is today) through most of the airport--right up to the departure gates. This was before the " hijacking to Cuba era" became an issue and security started.

  • Will the 3 terrorists leave the aircraft?

  • Oh I remember flying on this when we went to Orlando for the first time, 727's were such good airplanes

  • Awesome footage. Eastern Airlines = Instant childhood nostalgia for me. Used to fly on an Eastern L-1011 from Orlando to San Juan every summer. Love the 727 as well. 3 holers are awesome

  • Aaahhhh, analog video. Finally, someone who understands.......

  • THE greatest airplane I ever flew...sure miss that old three holer

  • Flew on many EAL 72's between LGA and DAB...with a stop or change in Atlanta- Great memories of some good times reflected in your footage!

  • I was born in May 1982. Awesome video. 1982 was a tough year for the United States as it was in a severe recession that ended in November 1982 where unemployment would rise to 10.8%. Then came the powerful V-Shaped recovery.

  • Its music like this that brings back the magical days of flying!

  • @Flyboy3245 I think the "magical days of flying" are still here. It's just that the language telling the story is different :-)

  • Do you know the Registration number of this 727 ?

  • Wow, great vintage footage. Thanks for sharing.

  • Never flew on a 727, but US built aircraft will always rule the sky. Airbus aircraft have slow, boring takeoffs and weak climbs, while a 747 has a better climb than the A320. Sad

  • The avation world was very different in 1982...they probably didnt care about turning off electronic devices...

  • @airplanecrazy1989 Of course they didn't. They weren't mainstream yet.. I don't even think cell phones were in existence yet. Let alone Bluetooth, and all those things that transmit "dangerous" frequencies.

  • I LOVE THE 727!

I FLEW IT FROM SOUTH AFRICA TO ZAMBIA FROM 2003-2005

    IT IS A BEAUTY.

MY FAVOURITE AIRCRAFT OF ALL TIME!

  • I remember in the early 70's as a kid flying on an brand new Eastern 727-100 from JFK to Miami. I had to be about 9 years old. That plane was sparkling. Looking back I'd imagine it had been just delivered. The pilot came back during flight and pinned plastic wings on my shirt. I was in awe. Long live Eastern Airlines!!! The glory days of flying are long gone. I'm on a Delta MD88 and 757 tomorrow. Not nearly as magical as it once was.

  • AHHHH no airbus!!!!!! A time when NorthAmerican aircraft ruled the sky.

  • This is priceless footage. These were the true golden days of aviation. Tri-jets and quadra-jets ruled the skies. I only got to live them as a little kid....if only I'd been born ten years earlier.

  • Cool Vid!!!

  • Sss

  • Thanks for uploading this! Seeing the "old" Continental and Piedmont colors is pretty awesome. Glad you could transfer it from film.

  • did eastern have the 737-200

  • Eastern did not have any 737s.

  • First plane ive every been on was a 757 when i was 4 years old. Barely remember it, I think it was either a 767 or 757, i dont know.

  • Eastern was a great airline. Use to fly them MCO-ATL-RDU. Loved fly 727's and L-1011's.

  • Makes me think of my high school class trip from Newark to Disney World in 1977. National Airlines 727, I think. But it was National.

  • Really brings back the memories I had of the first plane rides I'd been on. Especially seeing those DC-8's and DC-10's

  • Ahh, yes. The Boeing 727, 737-200, DC-8, DC-10, L-1011, planes that now don't fly a lot today as passenger aircrafts. Every single aircraft in the past has made their mark in history that affects todays aviation.

  • Great vid. Reminds me of my first plane ride in 87... Eastern from OMA to KCI to MCO... Disney World!!!

  • Were you heading too ATL on Eastern that day?

  • WOW! LOOK AT ALL THAT ROOM!

  • Ladies and Gentleman; These Days were known as "the Good Ol Days"

  • FUCK :D thats realy old^^

  • What an outstanding video! I love this era of aviation. Just seeing those United planes parked out on the ramp in their old orange and blue 80's livery brings back memories of being a kid and being put on an airplane all by myself to go visit my grandparents out west. Incredible. Thanks!

  • Aw, that was beautiful.

  • He didn;t waste any time getting off the ground! Great video.

  • Woah! I remember flying on the 727's with NW when I was young, such great aircraft!

I have a video I recorded recently on a NW DC-9-30 that use to belong to Eastern. When I boarded that plane I couldn't believe the history in that plane!

  • Thanks for this posting. Outstanding!

  • What song is that???

  • Its called "Get Ready" and it is part of my library of royalty free music that I purchased just for videos.

  • @SDMullis Who created the song?

  • You should be famous for this video!! This was so great!!!!

  • My godfather was a pilot for Eastern from 1977-91,he was a captain when they went out of business,he flew a 727!!

  • Your videos are great from the days past! Post more! Thanks for sharing. Made my day!

  • Excellent!!!

    Thanks for posting!

  • Rare! 5*
