Thanks for viewing. The second power chord (at 0.16) is supposed to be(D#) which I'm playing as x.1.1 (the 6th string is muted). Lots of people play this song using drop D tuning. Since I didn't I couldn't play a full D# power chord at the low end so I'm basically stroking the A1 and D1 strings without the root D# on the E string. Hope that makes sense - Ron
Thanks for viewing dude. Thats the way I play it because I did not tune down a half-step. That's why in the chorus, which to my ear sounds better at the low end, the second power chord (D#) is played as x.1.1. With standard tuning you cannot play a full D# power chord so I'm basically stroking the A1 and D1 strings without the root D# on the E string. Hope that makes sense - Ron
Your pinky is like mine when I play, tucked under the neck most of the time. I'm thinking about covering this one after the rhythm guitar for Grinder (Judas Priest) and Frantic (Metallica).
Yeah, it pretty much does what it wants when not in use, however it does reluctantly follow instructions when called upon. I was thinking of re-doing this one as a guitar and bass cover. I just bought a new guitar and I think I can emulate the tone better. I'll check out your covers and thanks for viewing - Ron
I'll have to get a decent camera and audio recorder before I film more covers. But, Christmas is right around the corner, so maybe I can get some good deals. Or work some extra hours. :P
Thanks a lot for viewing and commenting. The guitar make is "Godin" and the model is "Detour". I bought it used but based on what I read online, Godin is a Canadian company. The guitar parts are made in Canada although the guitar itself is assembled in the U.S. - Ron

You make a good point. Regarding the views, I guess I figure there's not much point in recording and mixing an audio track and producing a video if no one is going to watch it. As for comments, it's just in recognition of the extra effort that the viewer has gone to when viewing the video. However, you're probably right, but just in case ... thanks for viewing and commenting - Ron :-)
Thanks a lot for viewing. No tabs, I watched the original Blur video and a couple of covers. The chorus chords are the same as the verse - F, D#, G# and C. To my ear, they sounded better played at the low end of the neck, but given that I used standard tuning I could not play a full D# power chord. So I played the A1 and D1 strings without the root D# on the E string (can't do without tuning down). Hope that makes sense - Ron
I recorded 2 separate guitar tracks - the first includes the introductory and verse guitar parts and I really struggled to emulate the original sound. I wasn't very happy with the result but it's the best I could do. I'm using a modest amount of sustain and delay on a clean amp setting. For the chorus track I used a basic sixties blues amp setting which seems to have built-in fuzz or overdrive. I read that the title is Song 2 because the length of the song is 2 minutes - Ron
Thanks dude! I struggled with getting the right tone on this one and I almost always get "uploaders remorse" after I post a video. That's where I can only hear and see the flaws and want to remove the video. So thanks for viewing and the comforting comment - Ron
