When sweeping a two or more string bar I believe you use the 'finger roll' technique :)

when you hit one note do you let go of the note to mute it?

I can do a basic sweep. I tried a signature Dave Mustaine guitar at Guitar Center and I can do, like for example, the solo to Lepper Mesiah by Metallica cause it has basic sweeps in the beginning. But on my guitar (Dean VX) I can't. The action is too high and when I lower it to get it at a more decent feel, I gets loads of fret buzz. I'm going to have to get a better guitar.

Yeah, that's the biggest question about the righh t hand for me. I mean, how do you do that? You don't even touch the strings with your palm, and yet when I do it it gets really noisy, even if I do it clean, I still need to mute the string right after I play it. How to do that?

try using your thumb from your picking hand to mute the string after it has been played, i mean.. like just slide your thumb up and down the strings as you sweep, sorry if i dont explain this good, but it helped me

Yes, that's what I tought, but this person in the video seems to avoid muting at all, and yet it sounds pretty good.
