@seonidh yes they are mainly used for gypsy vanners but there not gypsy cobs, there irish cobs because they were once bred with irish drafts, and the name irish cob hus stuch through the years i have one she is called rayniee she is amazing, best horse to ride/buy if ur a novis there gentle giants .:)

we have a grey welsh cob section d..but we trimmed its feathers down because they were getting muddy and we had to trim its mane because it kept gettin stuck in the reins but we have let it grow back and if u put unicorn horns on her head she looks like a unicorn xxxxxxx

What the various prices reflect in the thousands is Pedigree. There are also Pedigree lines in the UK.

As with dogs it is the difference between an average pet even within breeds and the show dogs.

"Gypsy vanners" are a myth. All Gypsy vanners are just overpriced Irish cobs. Over in Britain we call them irish cobs or coloured cobs and you can pick them up at a sale for a few hundred pounds. You guys pay through the nose for cheap imported horses. They are so common over here they are used for meat all the time. Some clever marketing person rebranded them "Gypsy Vanners" and added zeroes on to their price for the American market. They are nice little horses, but waaay overpriced.
