No, it is a Winchester 1300. This is a lame video because I was just messing around and my husband flipped on the camera, but I love my shotgun! I know it so looks like the guns pushed back and I was leaning back like a tard...lol, but I had to keep moving back to get my target in site. It was almost dusk and there was this bowling pin way up the hill you shoot into so I just kept stepping back til I had it and...well blew it up. Good times:)

No it is in Colfax at the range right off the freeway (HWY 173 and Norton Grade). I was told recently that it was shut down due to some idiot shooting at a bucket full of explosives and starting a fire. I guess it was really dry at the time and it only takes one irresponsible gun "owner" to ruin for everyone else. It sucks because it was a great place to take the whole family. 1. Plant your feet firmly so you don't take a step back after every shot. That just throws you off target every time (sounds like you didn't hit it till the last shot).
2. Line up your forearm parallel with the shotgun so your shoulder and/or elbow are pivoting and taking the recoil. Didn't your wrist hurt after that?
3. Don't lean backwards. Stand straight up or lean into it.

I don't take constructive criticsm as you being a jerk. Being that I could barely see my target with the naked eye (against the backdrop) it did take a few shots. This video was just the end of a fun day, blasting off a few more rounds before dark. The lean is something I really need to work on. I have a horrible natural arch that actual causes pain that has been hard to correct. Oh and I was shooting uphill, hence the arm angle. No wrist pain. I was raised shooting, but thanks for your tips:)

No, I wasn't trying to correct you either. With the pistol grip I find the best way to fire it is off to the side slightly above the hip. My back hurts anyway, but I truly don't know what the deal is with that lean. The 12 gauges' recoil isn't the bad so I don't find it to be a problem. However, shooting an SKS with a stock I was having the same problem. No offense taken at the girl comment:) I'm quite the girly tomboy! I'll work on my form and see if I can figure it out. I'll let you know:)

I've been shooting since I was a kid (dad&mom were cops) and no one handed me that gun or any of MY others. That lame arch is so common and I don't know why. I am going to work on it. I personally have a back problem, but that is not why that happens. It has me puzzled too and I am going to load my guns up for Thanksgiving in the mountains and see if I can figure out why we women do that. I know I'm not afraid of my guns or recoil so we'll see. I tried firing my Maverick 88 like that and it actually HURT my back because most of the recoil is absorbed by your spine and not your shoulder like it should be. Then again you have a pistol grip so you can't really put in on your shoulder. Honestly I'm not sure what the "proper" way to hold a pistol grip shotgun is.

Let me correct your spelling. You said, "your standing pretty far in front of her...". Your is actually "you're", which means "you are". I believe that is what you were trying to say. Again, the angle of the firing line looks as though my extremely experienced husband is standing in front of me while shooting this video. Stupid people should not respond in writing. You'd get further by asking questions about the video and possible danger rather than assuming. I'm so glad my husband was not shot!
To the one who thought it was retarded that no one was standing behind me, I was intentially backing up to get a line on my target which was a bowling pin someone left near the top of a large hill at this range. Recoil? It's just a 12-gauge, but I'd love to get behind some serious power. As for the cameraman, my husband. He would never stand in front of a firearm, but the curve in the line at this range always makes it appear as though you're in front of the shooter. My kids even know better:)

I have an issue with my back and the arch in my lower back, but I don't think that is the "real" explanation. I am really going to focus on this next time I'm out shooting. I was shooting a friend's SKS recently and noticed the same thing. I need to work on it. I could see if I was afraid of guns, but I love my guns so that's not it.
I love the SKS, its just as reliable as a AK and more accurate. depends on if your a righty or lefty but just put your right foot 1' in front of your left if your a righty, and do the opposite for if your a lefty. I also found that practice with using your stance helps.

If you want to defend your home you want something DEPENDABLE that you can USE. Pistol-gripped shotguns are not useable by ANYONE with anywhere NEAR the effectiveness of a shotgun with a stock. They're a gangster gun, and the ONLY "sensible" use for them is when you can't get around a need to hide a shotgun under a coat. It's really as simple as that.

Your local SWAT team may have shotguns with pistol grips, but you can be sure they ALSO have stocks ("tactical stocks" have BOTH a pistol grip and a shoulder stock)! The reason can be seen in your video: you can neither properly control, nor properly aim, a shotgun without a stock.
Believe me (as I said in my first comment), if your life was really on the line you would DEFINITELY want a stock on that shotgun to make it TEN TIMES more effective to shoot with.
You have got to be kidding!!! I am not a gangster, I am a teacher. Maybe you cannot properly aim without a stock, but what you cannot see in this video is me very effectively hitting my target; a small bowling pin at a distance of about 45 feet. I do not claim to be an expert marksman, but I can use it with accurancy in home defense or at the range. I can also use my Remington 870 w/folding stock and laser, 357 magnum or my 9mm and can count on any one of them without hesitation.

I'll try to state it for you one last time: Shotguns without stocks are NEVER USED by any sort of tactical professional--except in the very unusual case that it's necessary to try to conceal the shotgun.
As a teacher I have learned that when trying to offer information, delivery is the most important part. I appreciate information and learning when offered, but arrogance upon delivery never gets the message across. I am not confused by any means, you kept referring to pistol grips and gangsters using them for concealment only and I disagree. I am not the only person out there who likes the pistol grip and is comfortable with it. Likewise, your preference is not uncommon or w/out reason.

You cannot tell me that swat members I have known personally never used a pistol grip without the stock. I have seen it done and not on COPS. I will and do like the pistol grip in most cases, I did not think you intended to make me dislike it. My argument is simply with your claim that is "worse than useless". For close quarters, such as parts of my home, the added length is a hinderance.

I don't know where you live, but anyone who has been to this spot knows the angle of the firing line and it is EXTREMELY deceiving! Gun safety is first and foremost, so you are either opposed to them or really thought this was a dangerous situation. Either way, the line is at an angle and in every camera shot or video it looks really bad. My husband would never stand in the line of fire, nor would our 16 year old, who was there, be taught anything but firearm safety, THEY ARE NOT TOYS! Thanks:)

I have fibromyalgia and it is EXTREMELY painful most days and others (like this one) I am ok, I just never know how I'm going to feel from day to day. Thanks, though. Yes, that is my teen daughter (16)...isn't she beautiful? These videos don't even show what she really looks like, either one of us for that matter. This is public land and the dude had every right to stop there, as for crazy...nah, I just like to have fun & enjoy my firearms. The beer drinkers behind us were way cool. They are of legal age and neither of them EVER fired a weapon that day so they are free to drink. Right? All I know is my daughter has some great memories from that day:)

I see you are from th UK. Nothing wrong with that, but the UK has different views on guns. We have this thing called th 2nd ammnedment and it gives me, a woman even, the right to bear arms. Did I say just anyone can buy a gun you limey fag? There are multiple security clearances and safety tests to obtain a permit to buy a gun then there is a 15 day waiting period so soemone doesn't just get pissed (which means mad in the US not drunk like in UK) and goes out to whacks someone. If you have a mental history record you cannot ontain a permit or purchase a firearm. Dangerous? Have you watched the news lately? Ufortunately we live a dangerous world and I can protect myself. What you're saying makes complete sense. It is just hard for me to go with it because I have been shooting since I was a kid (now 33). That shotgun is mine, well I bought it to add to the family collection and I'm not afraid of it. It is actually my favorite gun. This video was obviously just for fun. Some people take it so seriously, its humorous. No matter what the reason and my husband has come up with a few, I think you'd see a marked difference now that I'm aware of this "girly" form...lol.

No it is in Colfax at the range right off the freeway (HWY 173 and Norton Grade). I was told recently that it was shut down due to some idiot shooting at a bucket full of explosives and starting a fire. I guess it was really dry at the time and it only takes one irresponsible gun "owner" to ruin for everyone else. It sucks because it was a great place to take the whole family. Shooting from the Hip 101:
1. Plant your feet firmly so you don't take a step back after every shot. That just throws you off target every time (sounds like you didn't hit it till the last shot).
2. Line up your forearm parallel with the shotgun so your shoulder and/or elbow are pivoting and taking the recoil. Didn't your wrist hurt after that?
3. Don't lean backwards. Stand straight up or lean into it.

I don't take constructive criticsm as you being a jerk. Being that I could barely see my target with the naked eye (against the backdrop) it did take a few shots. This video was just the end of a fun day, blasting off a few more rounds before dark. The lean is something I really need to work on. I have a horrible natural arch that actual causes pain that has been hard to correct. Oh and I was shooting uphill, hence the arm angle. No wrist pain. I was raised shooting, but thanks for your tips:)

No, I wasn't trying to correct you either. With the pistol grip I find the best way to fire it is off to the side slightly above the hip. My back hurts anyway, but I truly don't know what the deal is with that lean. The 12 gauges' recoil isn't the bad so I don't find it to be a problem. However, shooting an SKS with a stock I was having the same problem. No offense taken at the girl comment:) I'm quite the girly tomboy! I'll work on my form and see if I can figure it out. I'll let you know:)

I've been shooting since I was a kid (dad&mom were cops) and no one handed me that gun or any of MY others. That lame arch is so common and I don't know why. I am going to work on it. I personally have a back problem, but that is not why that happens. It has me puzzled too and I am going to load my guns up for Thanksgiving in the mountains and see if I can figure out why we women do that. I know I'm not afraid of my guns or recoil so we'll see. Guns aren't just for guys:) Come on it's 2008:)

oh don't get me wrong I'm not saying girls should be allowed to own guns, I was just commenting on your form. I tried firing my Maverick 88 like that and it actually HURT my back because most of the recoil is absorbed by your spine and not your shoulder like it should be. Then again you have a pistol grip so you can't really put in on your shoulder. Honestly I'm not sure what the "proper" way to hold a pistol grip shotgun is.

To the one who thought it was retarded that no one was standing behind me, I was intentially backing up to get a line on my target which was a bowling pin someone left near the top of a large hill at this range. Recoil? It's just a 12-gauge, but I'd love to get behind some serious power. As for the cameraman, my husband. He would never stand in front of a firearm, but the curve in the line at this range always makes it appear as though you're in front of the shooter. My kids even know better:)

Hey gunfuego, you're totally right. I have realized that other women I have watched (not all) lean back too. I have an issue with my back and the arch in my lower back, but I don't think that is the "real" explanation. I am really going to focus on this next time I'm out shooting. I was shooting a friend's SKS recently and noticed the same thing. I need to work on it. I could see if I was afraid of guns, but I love my guns so that's not it.

I love the SKS, its just as reliable as a AK and more accurate. depends on if your a righty or lefty but just put your right foot 1' in front of your left if your a righty, and do the opposite for if your a lefty. I also found that practice with using your stance helps.

If you want to defend your home you want something DEPENDABLE that you can USE. Pistol-gripped shotguns are not useable by ANYONE with anywhere NEAR the effectiveness of a shotgun with a stock. They're a gangster gun, and the ONLY "sensible" use for them is when you can't get around a need to hide a shotgun under a coat. It's really as simple as that.
Of course, nobody's saying you shouldn't have FUN!

Your local SWAT team may have shotguns with pistol grips, but you can be sure they ALSO have stocks ("tactical stocks" have BOTH a pistol grip and a shoulder stock)! The reason can be seen in your video: you can neither properly control, nor properly aim, a shotgun without a stock.
Believe me (as I said in my first comment), if your life was really on the line you would DEFINITELY want a stock on that shotgun to make it TEN TIMES more effective to shoot with.

You have got to be kidding!!! I am not a gangster, I am a teacher. Maybe you cannot properly aim without a stock, but what you cannot see in this video is me very effectively hitting my target; a small bowling pin at a distance of about 45 feet. I do not claim to be an expert marksman, but I can use it with accurancy in home defense or at the range. I can also use my Remington 870 w/folding stock and laser, 357 magnum or my 9mm and can count on any one of them without hesitation.

I'm trying to offer information derived from FIFTY YEARS of heavy involvement with guns of all types (yes, I've been shooting since I was four years old, when my father owned the largest indoor shooting range in the US).
I'll try to state it for you one last time: Shotguns without stocks are NEVER USED by any sort of tactical professional--except in the very unusual case that it's necessary to try to conceal the shotgun.

You cannot tell me that swat members I have known personally never used a pistol grip without the stock. I have seen it done and not on COPS. I will and do like the pistol grip in most cases, I did not think you intended to make me dislike it. My argument is simply with your claim that is "worse than useless". For close quarters, such as parts of my home, the added length is a hinderance.

Hi Chris:) Surely you are joking. I am not in the habit of letting my guns push me anywhere. It had to do with the target, which I did hit. As for standing up straight...that would be great if I did not have a fucked up back. I would have alot easier time and live with alot less pain. I don't know where you live, but anyone who has been to this spot knows the angle of the firing line and it is EXTREMELY deceiving! Gun safety is first and foremost, so you are either opposed to them or really thought this was a dangerous situation. Either way, the line is at an angle and in every camera shot or video it looks really bad. My husband would never stand in the line of fire, nor would our 16 year old, who was there, be taught anything but firearm safety, THEY ARE NOT TOYS! Thanks:)

I may be reposting regarding the shotgun. It is a Winchester 1300. I heard they were no longer going to be made in the U.S. What? So I ran out and bought one real quick. i've always loved that gun! Two things I hate hate...being woken up and zombies or FREAKS in my house. This is the perfect gun. Got the 9mm behind my head in ready position and the shotgun hangin in close range. I sleep very well:-)

Anytime...Anyplace. Have you ever been out just fucking around with your guns? Apparently not. This was not a day for accuracy or hunting large game...oh and by the way gutter rat, I blew that tiny bowling pin clear of the side of that mountain. This was just a day of four wheeling, shooting and having fun hence the laughter, not a marksmen's tournament. I think you could call the 20ft you move back delayed recoil,lol,that sounds like a good excuse that you could use,maybe next time you start by walking forwards as you fire then l guess you'd just come to a stop,lol,just remember to always stay behind a shooter and infront of a shitter and you'll be ok,lol.
