what do you do if they say that cant unlock it and its locked to the old gophone?

@Awkkkkkkkk i would suggest you to buy a new sim card and transfer your number to the new sim card. that would keep your sim card locked, but it would be locked to the iPhone instead of the current phone you are using. When i got mine activated, the man said he would unlock my sim because he "understood my intentions". I told him i would be using it on a new phone after i activated it.

U should show the iphone 4 running on the gophone plan, like call and text and I heard u can use data on it but just not too much because if u do then At&t will find out and cancel you service. I wanted to do this but I don't want to spent that much money and blow it cause I do have wifi at home but I like to use my 3G whenever. I really don't understand At&t they sell unlocked iphones directly off contract yet they don't allow the users to use them on their prepaid plans make no sense to me

They made it to where unlimited data only works for non-smartphones. But you can buy a sim card cutter from ebay or amazon for around 10 dollars

Thats true. The data is kinda like a last resort type thing. An extra 25 bucks for half a GB isnt worth it

JUST MAKE SURE that the sim card is already inside the iphone when you are talking to the representative. The only thing unlocking the sim card does is let you use the sim card with any other phone. Also, you dont need to cut the sim card if you are using it with the 3GS, only the iPhone 4 needs a micro sim card

I gave them the imei from the old lg flip phone. If you give them the imei from the iphone, they will tell you that you cannot do it. I also asked for the sim card to be unlocked to use with any phone i want to use.

Yep, easiest thing to use! I dont recommend cutting it with scissors, because if you mess up, the sim card is done.
