i may not be BIGGEST fan, but a hardcore fan none the less, my sis was a metalhead and i would rock out with Justice and Ride on vinyl, so its been awhile. I saw them once during the '96-'97 tour, short hair but STILL rocked!! Although, some may agree, that the drums are not what they once were (still has that Load drumming) the new shit is totally acceptable!! I like St. Anger, but you need to listen to it with a grain of salt, its not for everyone. Death Magnetic definitely has more depth!
