This is by far my favourite song from the 3rd album, too many of the others had the more aggressive Hot Cakes kind of sound for my liking, I think their more chill stuff is way better listening.

a bit of distortion, and a bit of compression maybe? he has a bazillion pedals so it's probably not easy to recreate.

it just the pedal he has. im not sure what pedal it is, but thats what helps him get that badass high sound thing, ya know. u just gotta go look at pedals and sound distorters to find what you like

He uses a BOSS Blues Driver for the distortion, a Line 6 Dl4 Delay Moduler for the delay, a Digitech Whammy set a 1 Octave up and he uses Harmonic Slides on a fretless Bass. It took me forever to figure that out, but now I can play it!

yeah it's off their newish album "These Promises Are Being Videotaped" I haven't heard much other then this song but I hear it's a really great album, if this song doesn't prove it enough.

This is the best song in it, sadly - in my opinion. The only other one I like is Chino, but that's pretty much it. And it's only got like . . . eight songs? I sometimes think that they've run out of shit.

I think with instrumental bands, every album has to have it's different them, and maybe for this they have decided to ditch a little of the sadness and try to add some happy to their sound. Not necessarily bad but certainly different.
