It looks like Final Fantasy has finally come back to having GOOD final boss themes, it sounds really intense while still being a memorable theme. Hell, this game did a lot of things right, the whole game was all very, very good.
You must use tortoise if you are low leveled to beat this guy. Use Tortoise (SEN/SEN/SEN) And you will survive his flares and devastating blows. I was very low leveled, but I like a challenge. No point in being 99 and beating the boss with 1 hit. I'll probably do this to get the achievement. :P
@shinroxas Dying Sun probably was the most annoying one I had to deal with. Usually Serah and Noel could survive it but if I had a medic at the time they usually got knocked out. And unlike the flare attacks you couldn't prepare for it.
Gigaflare was easily survivable, tereflare however was not, I had to go CP farm for ages so I could survive the stupid attack :/ Loved the game so much, except for the ending so there best had be a resolution to it or I will refuse to buy another square enix game... unless they remake Final Fantasy VII
That's why SEN was made. It easily survives anything :D
Maybe. I haven't really given the boss a chance to use Terraflare (level 99 on everything is pretty much telling the game to go do nasty things to itself).
@Nesaru Even when used steelguard with serah she still died straight after that cause i couldnt heal everyone quick enough :/ Teraflare easily done between 3000 and 4000 damage to people not in SEN and 500 to 2000 if they were and i had really low health before i went and cp farmed so it was hard to withstand :/
Ah. I was obnoxiously over levelled before the fight, so... yeah (I miss the level cap). Having someone equipped with the accessory which doubles (or something) a potions potency is always a good idea. S'what I did for a lot of fights when in SEN. Saves time and HP.
I actually think this boss is easy if you know what to do and what to look for. It's really a matter of staggering and going straight into Cerberus (COM/COM/COM) and going into Consolidation (SEN/SEN/MED) when you have to, especially when 3...2...1 pops up in the screen.
Pretty epic boss fight tbh, despite it taking me 28 mins first time round... I was being way too cautious with buffs and debuffs (or status ailments as they're called in FF).
Second time round I had everything maxed out with the best weps, the boss didn't last long.
i think this song is only good not great, square usually has better final boss themes than this, i felt ruler of time and space was a better fit for the final fight, granted this song does get your "OH SHIT OH SHIT IM FUCKED" o meter to skyrocket
Having just beaten the final boss I can safely say that they DRAMATICALLY improved the final boss fight over XIII.
Laying eyes upon what it is you're tasked with beating + hearing this track start playing in the background, especially after what it takes to even GET to this point, I literally said:

took me 50+ minutes to beat the last boss and was under leveld :( also took me about 6 tries haha all caiusfights took me a day plus started 11pm at night finished 6am 31 hrs later :P just a tip dont be dumb and try to finish with 2800 hp XD

The reason newer songs suck is cause they drown out the good parts with a bunch of worthless foreground music. This song is a good example, the background music is good, but the foreground music drowns it and ruins the song completely.

You don't have Cerberus for quick take-downs? Honestly I think a third Sentinel isn't necessary in that battle. Especially if you're using Flanitor on Medic. Because he takes flares like a champ.
@inxile412 It works out better because I just used that to take any big attacks during the whole game then heal with diversity and Im good. I think that fight before the boss with a bethmoth and those 2 mage cats is much harder
I must confess that when I was playing the game, I wasn't too impressed (even though I'm a die-hard-extreme-final fantasy-fan). That was...until I fought this boss. When those 3 dragons appeared, my mouth went wide open and I had to STAND up because I though was gong to have a heart attack; and the music? Dear Lord, the music. This boss made the game a BILLION times better and I think it had to be one of my top 3 ff final boss. So please, don't give up on the game. (Oh man I love square enix)
It's too bad this battle didn't scale with your level. As a completionist, I walked into this battle, saw the three dragons, heard the music, and was like "OH HELL YES!"
And then 5 starred it in 2 phases (phases being pulling out Jet Bahamut).
I got to these guys yesterday with a pretty good party and got my ass whooped. So, I left after the 5th ass kicking to level up on some side missions.
Just a word of advice before he uses the flare attack have Serah and Noel both Sentinels and one Medic...That's what i did and i came out on top. Just have a sabatour handy with ravenger and commando. :D Other then that it was a thrill fighting him.
After 1 full hour i finally beat him i was so extatic when i beat him i was like YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY thank god even though i nearly lost it in multiple spots in the epic fight
god, the final boss was so, epic but hard xD. I had to like max up potions, and wound potions. I even had to keep leveling up before I faced him so that when he put a gigaflare or a teraflare I would have at least some HP left, I had to fight him so many time that I even realized that a giga/teraflare happens every 5 minutes(about 5 minutes more or less) if you do not have this game you have to buy it now ! :D . . . ending made me cry though . . .

I so glad that I did not grind before I fought him, the first encounter was so much fun, I got gameover-ed 6 time before I finally beat him. After I got all the fragments and fully trained team, I beat him in 2 mins, killed all the fun.

This is almost as awesome as the One-winged Angel song. It has a catchy melody, the beats sound powerful for the character and the orchestral part of the song puts the icing on the cake. Now, this just needs rock or metal version like Advent Children gave One-winged angel :P

the two bahamuts are really easy to stagger though and you just switch straight to all commando and they die well quickly then you have the big fucker and you just stagger him as much as you can and buff everyone up like fuck then attack head on with three commandos if your a speedy gamer

I didn't fight a boss so fun and challenging in a long while. The theme, setting, and feel of it is just perfect. The action is intense, having me on the edge of my seat the whole time ...

@Chaoticom2 I love the challenge you can give yourself in this game. You can make yourself uber strong by doing the "optimal stat" route or do the "I just went with it" route, which usually gives a balance. Even then with the "optimal stat" route, you can have just Noel and Serah fight as a duo team without a monster helper, and then that requires a bit of strategy without the 3rd helper.
It's truly refreshing. I understand some people don't like the game, but it should be given a chance.
This is as epic as Jenova theme. The difference is that here Jenova is the Final Boss ^^ and Sephiroth is just a rival like Jenova was supposed to be.
This song just reeks awesomeness! I love this so much, this has to be one of the most memorable themes since Birth of a God from FF7 or any of those awesome old ones we all know and love.
It's an epic, frenetic theme, but the final boss has the lamest name in the whole FF series: Bahamut Wallow. WTF is that? -_-' It couldn't be Ultima Bahamut or something? :\
This is one of the best Final Boss theme i've ever heard... It gives you the feeling that it is the last and most important fight that will decide the future of the world. Just perfect...
@ph0ronopsis Uematsu is a pretty mediocre composer, honestly. There are much better out there - Masashi Hamauzu, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Koichi Sugiyama, Kenji Ito. hth. :)

I so glad that I did not grind before I fought him, the first encounter was so much fun, I got gameover-ed 6 time before I finally beat him. After I got all the fragments and fully trained team, I beat him in 2 mins, killed all the fun.

This is almost as awesome as the One-winged Angel song. It has a catchy melody, the beats sound powerful for the character and the orchestral part of the song puts the icing on the cake. Now, this just needs rock or metal version like Advent Children gave One-winged angel :P

the two bahamuts are really easy to stagger though and you just switch straight to all commando and they die well quickly then you have the big fucker and you just stagger him as much as you can and buff everyone up like fuck then attack head on with three commandos if your a speedy gamer

When I saw what I had to fight ... I literally went:
"You have gotta be fucking kiddin' me ... THREE of them?!"
And no, it didn't stop there. Two of them just HAD to regenerate right when I got the bastard's chain to 999.
I didn't fight a boss so fun and challenging in a long while. The theme, setting, and feel of it is just perfect. The action is intense, having me on the edge of my seat the whole time ...

me and my 2 other friends thought the same thing, beat him 2nd time but it took me 33mins !! fucking amazing battle.
but for all the people saying its really easy, try this boss without your uber powered teams and cloudbursts/debris/tonberrys etc..
after your team is extremly strong yes we know this boss takes less then 2mins but so stop going on about it.

@Chaoticom2 I love the challenge you can give yourself in this game. You can make yourself uber strong by doing the "optimal stat" route or do the "I just went with it" route, which usually gives a balance. Even then with the "optimal stat" route, you can have just Noel and Serah fight as a duo team without a monster helper, and then that requires a bit of strategy without the 3rd helper.
It's truly refreshing. I understand some people don't like the game, but it should be given a chance.

This is as epic as Jenova theme. The difference is that here Jenova is the Final Boss ^^ and Sephiroth is just a rival like Jenova was supposed to be.

For me both Bayonetta and Chaos Legion, had beautiful overwhelming battle themes.
To me, my personal favorite ost from Bayonetta was ''You May Call Me Father'' and from Chaos Legion was: ''To Be Killed Again''
Epic soundtracks, but this...theme really gives off the feeling that it is the end of everything.
