My brother went to buy Wings' Mull Of Kintyre but the record shop had run out so he came back with this instead. Even age 7, I knew he'd got the better deal.
@newall7 Great music from a great band, but to my recollection Den Hegarty is from Ireland and Rita Ray is from Ghana, No offence is meant by this post but when someone or something great is Irish we like to claim it as our own. But all the rest of the band are from the UK, and I must admit it took the whole band to make the music sound so good.
Can't decide my fave bit... Big Den Hegarty pogoing on stage mid-set, or old Dave Kid Jensen doing a slightly creepy nonce at the end with his arm round the bird... Either way, beautiful stuff.
Tenía 17 años cuando compré este disco. Los Darts me parecían entonces el no va más de la transgresión y yo quería ser como ellos. Qué inocente era todo. Qué rápido ha pasado el tiempo. Hasta siempre, queridos Derts.
...Daddy Cool was in the charts, I was in the school hall making decorations for the windows for the school play, my friend was singing the lyrics wrong "danny coop" lol
All the kids loved them back in the day,me included. The reason i listened to this now was because it was played on the radio the other day,and i remembered how it catchy this song was,and still is.
My boys are used to me blasting out all of my Darts songs - in the house or car. Don't be embarrassed... your Mum rocks! Go & see them for yourself - Americana festival (Nottingham) on 13th July and tell your Mum to see them live on stage July 12th, 100 Club, Oxford St, London.
me and my mum saw a car with a sticker saying "daddy cool on board" and mum goes, 'i remember there was a song called daddy cool' and about 5 secs later she was doing this weird dance and singing it. how embarrassing
Hey my friend - Darts are well & truly still alive 'n' kicking - I saw them last month at The 100 Club, London. The best live band EVER... and yes Den's back where he belongs & is as mad as ever - be afraid! Check them out in 2008.
A Million Stars!!

Hahaha...cool version of the original from 1957 by The Rays. It was the flip side of their killer hit "Silhouettes".

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Really just a pub band who somehow made it big. Perhaps because they looked a bit weird, and had a bit of a punky do-wap feeling about them.
