  • Nice to see just the Eagles on Stage instead of umpteen session musus.

  • This is RIDICULOUSLY GREAT

  • Maybe it was another concert before hell freezes over? he is not listed anywhere as a band member ?

  • I have a question , Who was the lead guitarist who played with the eagles on tv when Walsh didnt play. I think it was the Hell Freezes over concert. It wasnt Felder, I was trying to find out and it is bugging me !!!!

  • @samlo098 Walsh has always played since he joined them, and was in Hell Freezes over, the 2001 farewell tour onwards has been without Don Felder, he is replaced by a session player called Stuart Smith, hope this helps

  • @matthewrattigan Thanks Matthew,

  • I've only owned 2 EAGLES studio albums...The Long Run and a recent compilation album of 2 discs with a book included.

The book covers the stories behind the songs that were written and a few tidbits about the lives that the 7 men were going through in the 70's. I think that they group was great because of the overall talents of ALL 7 of them.

I won't say that any lineup was better than any other. They were all good when they were young.

  • @r5t6y12,

For those of you have may have the book, it includes stories of J.D. Souther and Jackson Browne, and the houses that these guys lived in and how some of the song titles came about, and a few other things...

But the combined talents of all 7 men (and the flavorings that they put in their music) were ALL good. Randy and Timothy's high voice, Bernie's banjo, the guitar solos that sound like they took a few weeks to compose because there was never a note out of place...

  • I was 15 when I went to this concert and still think it was the best show ever!

  • What a great band

  • There are few musicians like Walsh. He is absolutely incredible.

  • Dam the Eagles were so bad ass when Don and Joe were swapping leads and rhythm tasty licks. It was a shame when Don Henley and Glen got greedy and kicked Don Felder out.

  • By far this is the best version of Turn to Stone, that there ever was.

  • Talk about making a couple of guitars talk. None better together. Back when the Eagles were a rock band..

  • Fk me man, Joe walsh plays with such precision and knows how to make it all flow. never again will rock ever see the likes of the eagles and the 70's at that.

  • Near the end, Don Hunley was filthy. Hitting the snare and the other drums.

  • Best song never laid to vinyl.

  • @toddfi1 you got that right

  • Curious to know what Don Felder was using to shape his tone. Im guessing it was a Wah in open position and slightly tweaked here n there as he was jamming. I believe Walsh as always used a slight phase on his tone so both guitarists would be able to be heard separately.....either way, the Turn To Stone solos were Fing smokin!!

  • 3th rate version of latterday Byrds

  • ...back when music mattered more than personality. Love the Eagles...best band ever...along with Alabama

  • 13-1/2 minutes of pure freaking awesome....I hope somebody is preserving this for posterity...This is how R&R was meant to be...

  • @Fireworxs2012 heh...absolutely agree...was at this concert...best of both worlds...Joe and the Eagles!

  • wow! loved every part of their guitar duet -Felder and Walsh have the best musicality!

  • at 12:03 i heard Mr.Crowley's solo = =

  • This song is catchie

  • the 70s was the decade of the finest music ever recorded. this clip says it all. watching and hearing those two at there best gives me chills. I MISS THE 70s!!

  • I also HIGHLY recommend reading Don Felder's book. Very insightful!

  • That has to be one of the most tastiest tones out of Felder's 50's Strat....EVER!

  • I don't if the replay button can't stand much more of my violent abuse of it...the Turn to Stone version on this clip is beyond f'n EPIC!! Huge thank you's and massive props to the uploader!

  • I totally agree with the Dude (Lebowski)

  • Loved the Eagles when Randy Meisner was with them, and that's not a knock at Timothy B., either. He just had such an amazing voice!! Take it to The Limit with Meisner singing is one of the best Eagles tunes ever, IMO.

  • HOWDUYNO?

  • i was there !!! 13 years old

  • @edwh52 Where was there. I saw them in Nashville Tn in about 77.

  • Read the extraordinary prophecies of Linda Newkirk the tribulation is about to begin. The Obama Assassination, False Rapture, New Madrid To Split USA in half. Prophecies Org

  • @Hismailservice You are a F'ing Idiot !

  • wherever did u find this! excellent!

  • Thanks for uploading, that's pure art.

  • I agree - the band was nothing like past without Don Felder-Joe Walsh together. People lose track of sanity, blinded by success or other reasons fall apart from common sense.

  • This song is SO Rock 'n roll !!!

  • น้ำเสียงไม่ตกไม่มีใครสู้ใด้

  • The chemistry between Walsh and Felder is undeniable. Incredible.

  • is banjo difficult to learn ?

  • This was their first tour with J.W. and I saw them in Fort Worth. Their sound system was dialed in so perfectly and the acoustics in the Fort Worth convention center were so perfect that it was better than a studio recording. It seemed like we were levitating off our seats at certain points (but then again it could have just been all the second hand pot smoke we were forced to inhale)!

  • @MrMansterdawg Or the first hand smoke you willingly inhaled!

  • NEVER STOP LOVIN JESUS

  • You need to lose the first five minutes and forty eight seconds(05:48) seconds

    of this upload!! After that....greatness!!!

  • This is my favorite version of turned to stone

  • Be my master Don Felder !

  • Oh right--I forgot I don't like bluegrass! Let's say the only bluegrass I like is the Eagles bluegrass! : P

  • @passion5230 Right I don't like bluegrass either but it takes on a whole new vibe when it's Don Felder picking the banjo, right? Heck, I'd listen to Felder picking his toes.

  • thanks a lot for posting this.

  • Getting Don Felder and Joe Walsh were the best things to happen to the Eagles.Felder especially always seems to be criminally underrated,a hugely talented and tasteful guitarist.Walsh is simply epic, one of the alltime greats.Together they were one of the best guitar duo's ever.

  • @beckkyybabee And getting rid of Felder was one of their worst decisions. Admittedly, I don't know the full story, but when I saw them the other year it might as well have been a tribute act without him.

  • @beckkyybabee Criminally underrated...extremely well put! Don Felder could probably walk into Guitar Center to buy strings and no one would even know who he is, and the guy has created some incredibly legendary guitar parts. Definitely one of the best.

  • @beckkyybabee absolutely agree with everthing you said becky...midnight flyer is a Poco song (Randy started in Poco)..it sucks how the Eagles treated Feldor...it's all about the money..

  • @beckkyybabee absoutely agree with you becky...how the hell do you fire a guy like Felder?...oh...cause of money?...fuckin guy wrote Hotel California and Don & Glen didn't want to give him royalties...ok they wrote the lyrics...Felder is an unbelievable guitarist

  • @beckkyybabee Don Felder IS the reason The Eagles took off like wildfire in 77 on through the 80's. They used him to get rich then through him away like a piece of trash when it was time to enter their twilight years and do Reunion Tours every 3 years to keep the bank accounts of Henley and Frey filled to the brim so they could continue to live the lavish lifestyle they've grown so accustomed to. Henley and Frey are RUTHLESS CEO's of The Eagles Corporation.

  • The Eagles - Live In Houston 1977-11-06

    The Intro of "Witchy Woman"

When the Intro is BETTER than song itself

    AWESOME!!!! Check it out!!!

  • this is the closest to popular bluegrass you will EVER SEE.I personally hate bluegrass but love the Eagles.See?

  • Felder and Walsh are playing the same guitar and banjo riffs which Leadon and Frey had already played for years on Midnight Flyer. Check out the earlier vids.

  • young felder n walsh...

  • lol, the length of the video is exactly 13:37

  • Two guitar gods in action !!! pure poetry...but...where are henley and frey ??? I really don't miss those two assholes...

  • The Eagles have good songs but are boring on stage.

  • You know you are cool when a bango is cool in a rock-n-roll band in the 70s

  • This is so much better than the studio version.

  • Comment removed

  • awwwwwwwww Felder and Walsh ... best damn duelin solo ever...two bad -ass guitar players...damn what has happend to Rock! It's gone Forever!

  • @toothmaker22000 Right toothmaker. You can tell this is just a run of mill performance for them and it BLOWS AWAY what passes for Rock nowadays. Exceptional!

  • A LETRA É HORRIVELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL KKKKKKK

  • great video.....i sale "THE EAGLES".... framed signed poster(s) 18"x24"

    100% authentic...for more information.,,,email me: RonsMemorabilias @ yahoo.com other artist(s) also available.

  • 10:00 ... This is the real Eagles - Don Felder and Joe Walsh standing next to each other trading licks. They're nothing but cover band without Don Felder.

  • @md65000 Agree. The best lineup had Felder.

  • @2010pies I agree. Felder added that elusive chemistry to the mix.

  • The video is l33t, 13:37 long :D

    And so is the music!

  • I like and have chance to watch concert The Eagles live in bangkok Thailand 2011

  • i already upload the live 1976 vid..feel free to come to my page :D

  • love this !!!!!!!!!!! i am at my wits end never heard this before,,,felder is on fire

  • the best line up

  • what's the song at 5:48 ?

  • @mitrakos1 Song is "Turn to stone" I believe from Joe Walsh and the band Barnstorm, before he joined the eagles..

  • My opinion is they just had to much talent for only one group ?

  • @oldspam - you can never have too much talent, but in the case of the Eagles, you can have too much ego (Henley and Frey)

  • Wow, as a fan of the Eagles since the 70s, never heard nor seen this song "Turn to stone". Wonder if the last instrumental part led by Felder is a 3rd song in this medley? Does anyone know? Great finding & superb stuff anyway. Thx for posting.

  • @hchiu Turn to stone is a Joe Walsh solo song.

  • Love Randy!!

  • thanks so so much for this awesome vid, i faved it!! ^^

  • Don Felder, Don Felder, Don Felder!

  • @maliburide YES YES Y-E-S - and check out Rolling Stone magazine's latest edition featuring the Top 100 rock guitarists of all time - Don Felder doesn't make the list - what a f*cking joke - down n dirty guitar jam right here

  • @michaelp3138 i'm not at all surprised Rolling stone is known for creating the most ridiculous lists ..evh was #70 on their 1st list lol many great guitarist pioneers did not make the list, i don't think even eddie's hero Allan holdsworth was on it..

  • Un clásico de poca...

  • Get a load of Joe Walsh in tandem on the Electric with Felder on the Banjo, man they worked well together.

  • Wow! What a great video post! Thanks so much for posting this gem! BobbyK

  • Bad Egos and Good Coke.No Acid..".Hey Joe You're Showin"

  • Felder is bendin the hell out of that old strat.

  • まさしくカントリー&ウェスタンやね! good!

  • epic guitar jam on "Turn To Stone" - Felder makes it look so effortless - like even a caveman could do it ;)

  • Beautiful Song! Randy wonderful Voice!

  • Too bad the Eagles weren't the regular backing band for Joe Walsh.

  • Joe Walsh one of the greatest and most underrated musicians... IMO he should have never joined the eagles. him and fender should have down their own thing and I'm guessing they would have still really made it big like they did with the eagles. it just drives me crazy most people think of Walsh as eagle band member and nothing more which is far from the truth.

  • @davidallenroth agreed. a few of his own songs that the eagles are happy to do with him on tours, are absolutely brilliant. his voice is unique, and wierd, but so good. and such a good guitarist.

  • The only time all seven Eagles have ever been on stage together was during their Hall of Fame acceptance. Man, wouldn't it be awesome to see a concert with all seven....hell eight, put Smith in their too....Henley, Walsh, Schmit, Meisner, leadon, Felder, Smith and Frey. How awesom a lineup would that be?

  • @MultiBaldEagle *there

  • I use to snort coke with them

  • @TheHurlco I can only imagine the funny faces of Walsh while doing lines, like when he's performing.

  • I saw this tour. The tickets were $10 each. I bought ten, kept two, and scalped the rest for $25 each.

  • @Tickbryan how much would that be if it was with todays economy? $70? more, less?

  • @DarkTuga96 the acid was free, so that didnt matter brother :P

  • @Jagethemage haha good reply

  • @Tickbryan Me to in 78

  • i know the woman that used to cut their hair :)

  • @crystaloctober

doesnt look like she worked very much :)

  • To continue my previous post:

Don Henley and Glen Frey are also fantastic musicians, even if their egos (and personal greed) have put them both to shame. Perhaps Randy Meisner turned out to be the smartest of the bunch, he bailed out before the shit REALLY hit the fan.

  • Look, egos aside - the Eagles are a unique bunch of musicians, past and present. Don Felder is a one of the best guitar players alive, but so is Joe Walsh. What Don has in dexterity, Joe makes up for in, well - something fabulous! I am just not poetic enough to put my finger on it.

To say one is bettar then the other is ridiculous - they are both great !

Watching this video, you can see how Don and Joe worked their way towards the epic Hotel California guitar solo.

  • @Halli50 "What Don has in dexterity, Joe makes up for in, well - something fabulous!" I couldn't agree more and that something fabulous could be "soul".

  • @astranine yep.

  • Awesome sounds Uncle Joe! Music Is The Best!

  • i think my ear jst came.

  • @keeprocknrollalive03 , awesome post!

  • Don Felder was too good for The Eagles. The combined ego of Henley and Frey assured he'd be gone soon.

  • what.'up

  • wow, I never realized how good the Eagles were. Now I do.

  • This must have been very near the last appearence of Randy Meisner.

  • Wow! Fellder and Walsh burning up the stage. Thanks for posting!

  • hear the master guitar

  • Lets you see the rare kick ass side to the eagles rather than their folkish kick back style

  • Yummy !

  • the first concert I ever saw was Kiss in 1977, the second was the Eagles in 1980; Kiss talks trash about bands that show up in their street clothes- but can Kiss even began to compete w/ the musicianship of the Eagles?!? The Eagles could go out & jam, and STILL sound just like their records. These guys were the real deal- thanks for turning me on to REAL musical quality guys! (Kiss does have a fun show though!)

  • Felder fuckin ROCKS!!!!

  • where is the orig. video of hotel california, where felder and walsh play live?? can't find it anymore! henley and frey must have removed it cuz it just revealed what a great band eagles were then....

  • @showmasterd yeah, think it's been removed. there was an amazing solo cover by a guy named delawellsoul or something close to that and I coudln't find that either.

  • Just finished reading Felder's book....All I have to say is, what a bunch of A&& holz Frey and Henley are. Money corrupts ALL !

  • This is a reminder and a great way to connect with the past. This band was so hot! All inclusive. They all steal the show. This performance can't be touched today! Music to dream by...

  • "Robman7" Might be so, but they're still great. And I don't think anyone can tell Joe what to do and then expect he'll do it... He does what he feels for!

  • Thank you soo much for this one, just love to see these people play together, especially Joe playing together with his guitar... Thank you!!

  • That Felder & Walsh solo on Turn To Stone is unbelievable! If the Eagles could do stuff like this on tour today, they might be worth the money they're asking for! The tours today are only make-do shows for a younger generation who missed out the first time around. It's like there's no room for sponteneity anymore. Everythings re-hearsed over & over & over & over....

  • There is a reason that this is 13 minutes and 37 seconds long because it's fucking LEET!

  • Comment removed

  • well...i've been 2 over 200 shows and this in my top 5...course the 1st 3 r all flloyd...lol...

  • 13:37 ..

    inb4 shitstorm

  • UMMM,

WHERE THE HECK IS HOTEL CALIF? GOOD GRIEF!

  • Ha, ha, only Walsh and Felder would mix electric guitar and banjo.

  • @shilo901 hell yes!

  • oh come on no hotel california you couldnt put that on??!!! but still great!!!

  • @boss9837 is a serious retard who dont know shit about music

  • @boss9837 Justin Beiber fans just don't get it.

  • @ahamay79 LOL You got that right I TOTALLY AGREE

  • Watch out!!!! Felder on banjo!!!!!!

  • aggg

  • holy crap theyre SO not the same band...This is awesome stuff...Wow

    Thanks to whoever posted this.

  • holy crap theyre SO not the same band....

  • Best lineup the Eagles ever had.

  • GREAT!!!!!!!

    ☆☆☆

  • Great performance

  • After Leadon, Meisner, and Felder left, "THE EAGLES" became "THE EGOS".

  • @TheMidniteFlyer after reading Felder's book, I could not agree more. What a bunch of jerks those two are.

  • @TheMidniteFlyer HELL YEAH!

  • Some great guitar work here. Too bad the fights going on behind the stage were the beginning of the end for this lineup. Reading Don Felders book, & it got pretty ugly.

  • This is the greatest thing I've ever seen eagles. Blew my socks off

  • I have always loved this song, along with "Seven Bridges Road", both of which show the depths of their versatility! Haven't compared different videos, but I do like the later audio versions more than the early ones. Seems like their unique blend had matured as well as their artistic choices! Still, can't ever find anything I don't like about the Eagles!

  • eh I prefer Glenn playin the slide solo, in the two videos of seen of them playin it in 1974 he seems like he's having fun playing it

  • I love Don Felder and he does his best but he is NOT Bernie Leadon in any stretch of the imagination.Bernie is a banjo player Don is doing his best to get through the song
