@noobifyjr It would be stupid to get a diamond2. It has a small, resistive screen and in comparison to current smartphones it is very slow and is just subpar. And no, no windows mobile phones can be upgraded to windows phone 7. If you want an HTC phone running wp7 they have plenty.

the speaker on the back is really bad... i have the googlephone.... and if i have it on my pillow or couch, i dont hear sh.. when some1 calls or i have the loudspeaker on... :-(

other than that, the googlephone is awesome, just too big.. i think the diamond 2 is real nice... might think about getting it next.

Hello! I might buy, the Touch Diamond 2. I've never bought an HTC device. I have to ask you, how easily, does the screen scratch? I had an Samsung Star, it scratched quite easily. Also, I went to my local electronic's store, and they didn't have a case for an Touch Diamond 2, so I have to fine somewhere on the net.

On the HD everything is just bigger. Other than that they're pretty much the same.

The Diamond2 does have a better camera though, and the HD supposedly has had some GPS problems (maybe it's been fixed in an update). And unless you know about the whole xda scene and flash a new ROM, the HD has an older version of TouchFLO 3D.

The way they work is very similar, they both run windows mobile and touch flo.

to say it in one, yes. they are very similar in many ways with little software comparison. the changes are mainly the screen size/type, RAM, ROM, processor etc. which will only contribute to ease of use and how quick the actual response and menu's are.

i have the HD Touch - and i absolutely love it. Ive had it since christmas 08' so now im currently on the search for a new phone for christmas 09' and im rather liking the look of the LG's BL40. The HD however has been amazing phone. Had no problems with it. The only fault i would have with it is that it has no flash. Thats the only thing, otherwise i would keep it for another year, and also, i get bored of phones easily.

Very few phones can actually play Flash in a mobile browser - even the new Iphone 3gs can't play flash. HTC Hero can play full flash and I believe some Samsung.

I have both of these phones.

Battery life on the HD depends on the ROM installed. My HD now has much longer battery life than my D2.

The HD screen is much much larger (notice the large borders on the D2), and buttons on screen are MUCH easier to press. If you want a keyboard, go HD. If you want to use 9 key only, go D2.

My HD is running the same SF as my D2.

Both excellent phones, but I have no reservations at all handing the D2 off to my wife and taking the HD with me all day.

I think HD is still well upon it's throne as the best windows mobile devices ever made.

Any software differece is not real as anyone can easily flash a new cooked ROM from xda-developers website. it's free and fun. Right now i'm running a ROM that contains the latest TouchFlo 3D version on my HD. Also, there is a software project for implementng a zoom bar on the 4 buttons; double-function

Speaking of the XDA-DEV website, HD forums have the highest flow and number of view till this moment :)

agreed, I used to have a pro and i now have a hd. The pro is bethere but i like the hd more becouse i like to have a bigger screen for using the internet. This video is kinda usless.

I tried the Dimond and except from the new touch flo its just worse. I do use the 3,5 mm jack, i do like a bigger screen, i do hate the zoom bar ( on the hd its also on the bothem of the screen so whats the use :/ ) if i want a pda i buy a pda not a pda that tries to be a phone.

i totally agree with mr. miniman, the diamond2 is so much smaller, and the buttons are illuminated. The HD is good for entertainment, but not for normal use.
