Classic Army G36s only last a few years? Most AEGs won't last 3 years if left untouched internally, and used a lot.

Mines from ~2006. Stills shoots just fine. Body is better than all other G36s out there- although the WE G39 is very close, if not just as nice. Not sure why people are always bashing on CA stuff, everything they make is great. ARES on the other hand... well, I'll just say have fun with the internals.

Just wondering if familiar with GBB guns in particular the WE series, i was wondering if you recommend the ARES G36 or the WE G39 i am aware of all the maintenance the WE G39 needs but i want to go for the most realistic feeling which in your opinion should i get?

@NeoProphet the we gbb g36 will be more realistic, with its low mag cap and realistic functions. but i would go with the ares any day. it is simply more realistic as far as field use, as well as much less expensive to maintain.

@XxSlixX well, i have never work on one of those specifically. but they look like jg rebrands. i would say get a bearing spring guide, m12 spring, piston, piston head, and bucking, but you can probably leave it stock and be fine. if you exceed and m120 spring, you should probably invest in a new motor.

DO you think it could be possible to modify this g36 into g36k by getting a conversion kit like on ehobbyasia with handgard and outer barrel ?

I ask that cause when you take off the handgard, I see that the ''recoil spring'' for the blow back is pretty long, maybe more than on the g36k version ... so it will be impossible to fix the outer barrel properly like on any g36k non blowback version

@octofel this is common knowledge. only ares barrels will fit the ares g36 series. the barrel has a unique design similar to the real steel.

Thats a G36c muzzle, the G36 had a 3-4 prong long muzzle that looks better than that one.

@SilentSoldier7 The only difference should be the barrel length (should be SLIGHTLY less accurate), and handguard, which mean you'll only be able to use mini batteries, and instead of a carry handle with integrated scope, the C has a standard 20mm rail with iron sights.

@inteli722 dude the eye relief on it is awful, you need to literally put your eye on the scope. it makes you hunch over if the stock isn't folded and its a little to high up to put a scope on it because you cant rest your cheek on the stock and aim down another sight. if they fixed the eye relief, it would be amazing because the scope its outstanding!

Don't know if anyones tried this, but since its a licensed copy and the manufacturer claims its as close to real spec as possible (in terms of size), can you mount an AK-74 bayonet on it? The real one was designed to use those (since there was an utter shit tonne left after the Berlin Wall fell, may as well have put them to use!). Just thought it'd look good when its on display.

Ok, a couple of things here. 1) How is the red dot in the bright day? and 2) the blowback will last a lot longer than 5000+ rounds, the part that engages the blowback sits right against the piston so its a lot better than older styles on other rifles that gets SLAMMED by the piston because it is not right up against it.

@Section8Airsoft1 the red dot is adequate during the day, but not as bright as i would like. in any case, i have replaced the gears in mine so that the blow back is much more durable. it seems that it is usually the sector gear that breaks, not the blow back system.

@chronos2517 thus far, the only problem i have had is the spring release stopped working, but the bolt catch still works. apart from that, and after replacing the gears and several other parts, the gun has been great. as far as this vs. the ics galil, it really depends on what your are looking for a in gun. i could go either way.

@maddmaxx12345 depends on what generation it is. all src g36 rifles tend to have a poor barrel locking bracket on the hop up chamber that should be replaced right away.

I was thinking about buying this gun and I just want to make sure the gearbox can handle most batteries. Can it handle 9.6v batteries (reason I ask is because most sites mention "only up to 8.4v")? I'm getting rid of my current gun and I'll have 9.6v butterfly configuration type batteries lying around for use. I'm guessing even the butterfly configuration type won't fit?

@Zenkotsu the blow back is mechanical. the metal bar catches the piston each time it is pulled back. if you replace the gears and install bearings, the system should be pretty durable.

@Iget0wnedI the jg and ares g36 rifles are very different internally. replacing internals parts on either gun requires a lot of skill that is acquired over years of practice. your best bet is to send it to a website to have it upgraded or take it to a local shop.

@UMBREON060295 I Would Replace The flash hider by simply using a blow dryer to heat up the glue, then carefully remove the hider and insert glue on a NEW Black flash hider and attatch it to you're airsoft gun. Most retailers sell these hiders.

@TheOMFGLMAO i believe i mention something about lipo usage in the internal review of this gun. you can use a lipo battery, but i do not recommend it. you will get the max rof, with the stock motor, with a 9.6v battery.

@p1k4nurxp13sr not really actually, if you check out pics of an actual Mg36 then you'll know what exterior mods you'll need.

and for internals.....find some REALLY long lasting High torque gears and possibly a better piston, azimuth is what i trust most

and for a motor, maybe a high torque motor and a long lasting pinion gear.

something that'll last you a long time of unuse and heavy use

becuase theres nothing that machine guns are known better than hosing a group of locked players in cover!

@PinoyPogiman if you do not own the gun or know what you are talking about, do not comment. your recommendations are a good way to lose money quickly. the stock gear set it just fine. simply disable the blowback. if you want a bit more life out of them, just install some 7mm bearing bushings. high torque gears are not required! a new motor would help with the rof, but the stock motor is great and does not need replacing. the piston is a prometheus clone with 7 steel teeth. do not replace!
