  • would it be, at all possible, to change this guitar in to a fixed bridge? I have the same guitar, but just hate dealing with the tuning every time I want to jam with someone.

  • awful camera bro.

  • quit drugs man

  • dude your a loon. nice guitar

  • I try to tune my guitar to Drop D but the bridge keeps rising and the guitar keeps getting out of tune, I've almost screwed the backscrews in completely. What should I do? I use a Ibanez RGD320 with 9-42's

  • @BandSniipeZ its a floating trem right? if yes, you got problems if you want to keep massing with different tuning paterns, the only way to fix it without having to set the whole thing up again is to hardtail the guitar.

    Does that make sense?

  • @poononga1 yes it's a floating trem. What d do you mean with hardtailing my guitar? Is it like locking the trem completely?

  • @BandSniipeZ pretty much follow the video and so it will only dive bomb and not pull up.

  • @BandSniipeZ All that does is control the pitch of the bridge. Every time you adjust your tuning, the bridge will move, regardless of how far your claw springs are tightened. You'd need to block the bridge from moving back in order to keep it in tune with a drop tuning. This is also called "hardtailing". Hope this helps!

  • wtf

  • Why buy a guitar with a floating tremolo if you dont want to use it?????????

    Buy a violin!!!

  • @nesa0401 Play the violin Johnny.... >.>

  • Why buy a guitar with a floating tremolo if you dont want to use it?????????

  • @nesa0401 i did want to use it, but it was crap. got an old rg that is great, and an sa!

  • @carpbass21 not true really

  • You are amazing! "i love you wine" haha!

  • @turkeycoreywalne mmm wine

  • if you stretch the strings b4 you tune them you wont have that problem

  • ur accent is awesome i must add

  • @dmohr7 thanks!

  • he been drinking lol

  • you god damn fucking idiot! it's supposed to go back that's what the locking nuts are for!

  • @airheadoo you dont say!

  • @poononga1 alright well im sorry for gettign angry. it's just that's an edge 3 and it's supposed to do that. and when your done tuning it lock it down with the things at the top. If it falls out of tune then, you need to sharpen the knife edge on the guitar. I had the same problem. If you have any questions ill be happy to help i have been studying these trems for a while now

  • @airheadoo these guitars are shit. a friend of mine gave me his and I've never been more miserable with any other guitar. what a piss poor design. I dont know what theyre smokin at ibanez. the locking nuts are useless too

  • @whipchops most of these guitars are if you have the dge 3, not all of them are bad. But yes most of them suck becuz they have the gayest trem ever, edge3 just swap it out with a better one and yes i agree about the locking nuts, i stripped mine out on my first one 2, but yes I see you're point often

  • @airheadoo Dude, what do you think about Jem 555? They say its Edge3 is quite good!

  • @Gretchen212 yep, jems are very like the rgs, but more reliable, bit better to play also!

  • @airheadoo yep, i got another rg that behaves very well and never needed to play with it at all.

  • @whipchops it really depends on what your style is, if you play fast and aggressive then you really cant beat these for speed, but if your a bit bluesy then these are not really youre thing, Ibanez are really built for comfort.

  • too many shrooms

  • @hhead44 haha

  • i love you wine.....

  • @poononga1 hahaha:)

  • @hasixteenunknown it worked tho hahaha

  • DOUCHEBAG!!!!!

  • @4000s what? im busy, fuk off!

  • @poononga1 Pudgy Lonely Drunk Homo

  • @4000s your looking for a lonely drunk homo? thats fikin odd, you should type that into the search area, this one is about guitars, homo searcher!

  • whats the fucking point of buying a guitar with a floating tremolo when your going to block the tremolo just buy a strat buy a regular tremolo.

  • @Tito13theGuitarist I really bought it for the rg neck, and really wasnt pulling back on the wammy too much anyway, and besides who plays a ficking strat??? Hank Marvin?

  • @poononga1 well you could of gone on ebay and bought a rg neck and saved your self a lot of money

  • @poononga1

    yea same here, i have a rg370dxl

and every 10 minutes i have to tune the damn thing it seems but i absolutley love the neck, nice and thin

  • @yaycookies1518 yeah the necks are awsome, have an old original rg and that holds tune miles better.

  • @yaycookies1518

I got an S370. When I got it the trem was blocked off, with stanley knife blades and wood!

I put 5 (yes, 5!) springs on it, and new trem posts, and it holds tuning like a rock.

I know that will screw up totally if a string breaks, but I'm careful about that.

    :o)

  • @Watche777 it should be fine, glad it worked for you.

  • You're crazy man. But I like you. Not in that way though.

  • @Watche777 super glue and booze works for me!

  • If you want to sort out tuning issues, why not use a tremol-no system.. When I got mine, it was woodblocked, but the block slipped and distorted the back plate. I've not used the tremol-no thing but it works by locking the plate to a fixed tail.

  • @Watche777 just got myself an SA from Ibanez its not quite as responsive on the floating trem and ive had no probs at all with this, so i think the rg will be shreading now and the sa for more bluesy stuff, gives me a good range really. good to hear you got yourself a solution to your probs.

  • Interesting... I would never have thought of doing it that way though! I recently did a similar procedure on another guitar with a locking trem, except, I superglued a bunch of picks together, and placed them inside the trem cavity between the top of the guitar and the rear underside of the trem(!)

  • @SuperGuitarNerd but picks are lick gold!! 35 pence a throw!

  • @poononga1 Ha! Not if you work in a guitar store they're not(!) };->

  • Ah i see looking to get the sustain with the old RG.. hardtailing this thing is probably the best decision ever.. basswood sucks terribly condition wise.. but great for sustain!.

  • @blogtvpunk Yeah! its made a massive difference, the rg rocked anyway, but it really rocks hard now! Gonna have this as my first guitar when i start playing live again next month! gonna make it scream like a bitch!

  • Sup man

I just got my Ibanez Rg looks like yours but In blue..what is the problem of the tunning in the Ibanez?

I can't understand if you can explain me I will aprecciate so much

    thanks

  • @Pieroowned Hi there, its not a problem at all when the guitar is in a constant temperature, but when temperature changes the whole thing becomes a real pain in the ass, which if im playing live i really dont need, anyhow, its cured!

  • Yeah, this operation is impossible without booze lol

  • I like the bottle of booze in the background 4:40
