@GsBBoyDan I agree vegetable oils should all be avoided for many reasons including the omega 3 to omega 6 ratios. Coconut oil also has a very high omega 6 to omega 3 ratio so I would avoid that too.
@GsBBoyDan 1 tablespoon (14 grams) of coconut oil has about 243 mg of Omega 6 and 0 mg of Omega 3. While thats not a huge amount of Omega 6, Coconut oil (like almost all oils) is 100% fat most of which is saturated fat with pretty much no vitamins, minerals or fiber. There have been some studies of whether coconut oil is good for you. Go to nutritionfacts . org and search for "coconut oil" to find them.
@ZoldierrZzz It depends on how you are using the oil. For example when baking, you could substitute 1/2 the amount of a moist food like: applesauce, mashed bananas, prunes, or plain soy yogurt. For frying some people have found that using water instead of oil works well. There is a good article on cooking without oil in one of the old McDougall newsletters. Do a google search for: "mcdougall newsletter cooking without oil"
@werewasyo It is not that much water. Its only enough to keep the food being fried from burning or sticking to the pan. We some moist foods you don't need to add any water.
Canola oil is NOT good either, it's still higher in omega 6, and it's REALLY PROCESSED with solvants, and deoderants! Just watch how it's made.
AND why peanut oil!? That's NOT low omega 6. It's ratio is 1: 30 of 3:6
Coconut oil is the best and healthiest overall, especially for cooking.

@vshvideo From what I can find, coconut oil has almost no omega 6, only 2%. Plus it's the most stable at high temperatures.
