I used to drive one but my knees used to buckle with fear when fully extended when I started, especially when it rocked. Got used to it and could drive around with my head nearly hitting the warehouse roof. Memories.
@mcraw4d I don't think so because the cage doors may have to be opened to get some packages, and theres also the case of if it was to tip you would rely on your safety harness and lanyard to keep from falling onto the hard tile.
@wilfuldoom My HO is that is should not negate OSHA regs about fall protection but I did not see any of the operators wearing fall protection. Initially assumed it might be due to the fact I did not see anyone exceed 5 feet. However, I did not see any "anchor points" that are typically seen on the overhead protection cage.
@7BeAsT9 Thank you for your comment. We appreciate the interaction. It looks like you've compared the Jungheinrich REACH truck (which is a good truck) to pick up Pallets. This truck is not a Reach truck but a Order Picker... designed for the operator to Case Pick at high levels. Since order picker requires standing... this is the reason the truck is designed without seats. I hope this helps clarify things. ~Thanks
@ducpetiaux. Yeah it is depress. I work on a warehouse with only 3 ppl. No one to talk to

Such a boring job. I did work in a warehouse like that for 5 years, and just moving things from here to there is depressing.

Does the "cage" negate the fall protection requirement of harness and lanyard?
