  • I've been searching for this song for a year now. My grandmother heard it in the movie "Story of Three Loves," back when it first came out in 1953, and has been on a hunt to find it in record and CD stores ever since.

Glad I could find it, I've never seen her so excited. c:

  • Really makes me wanna run out in to a big open space.

  • I think this song secretly plays somewhere in the world every time someone falls in love

  • getting teary.. such beautiful music =')

  • We played this song as part of our show for marching band state competition on Saturday and it was beautiful

  • Amazing

  • This is one of Rachmaninoff's most difficult pieces. I think it's also his greatest. I first heard this in the movie "Somewhere in time" Along with other beautiful music that was in the same movie.

  • Why are pieces like this posted on 'youtube' !!!!!

The quality is garbled and bled together and is the antithesis of great great music.

I'd rather hear nothing than this horrid internet mangled crap !!!

  • @yahoouser105 You just have to keep digging till you find one that meets with your particular taste and standards. Other than that, stick with your familiar Reader's Digest records.

  • I want to learn how to play this so badly!! Does anybody know where you can get this sheet music??

  • thanks for melody

  • Música maravilhosa!!! Linda!! Esplêndida!!!

  • * My Angel Robby, Lie In My Arms For All The Somewhere's In Time *

  • siempre amare este temita*****

  • I always cry when I hear this music. Not sure why, maybe it's because it's just too beautiful and my heart can't hold all my emotion.

  • My favourite piece of classical music. Heard it at the Unisa National Competitions, beautiful doesn't even come close to describe it.

  • My Mother was a concert pianist. I recall her playing this lovely piece for us as bedtime music. It does not get too much better than that. A wonderful memory. Indeed, we should have had it played at her funeral. Nice touch.

  • É uma música linda

  • Damn next girlfriend I get, I'm gonna be playing this song in the background.

  • wonderful well played.

  • I want this song played at my funeral.

To express the loveI I have for all those i have known and shall miss.

    Thanks for posting :)

  • Rachmaninoff was said to have the piece modeled on Paganini who was a violinist of his day that was said to have made a deal with the devil, in that he played so well.

    MrBob

  • there is a cloud spaded like walle :P at 1:51 it to the left og the screen :P

  • @beanie2888

You're an idiot, I hope you die!

  • One of the most beautiful Classical songs Ever......It sounds like GOD himself composed this song!

  • Thank God there are still people who cry when they hear beautiful music. If mankind ever reaches a point where no man is moved to tears by beautiful music God will have destroyed this world of ours.

  • this has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard in my life!

  • thumbs up if this song shook you up!

  • @cristi91 I remember this when I visied Universal Film Studious just being played before they close and havent heard it for over 20 years I was watching a Film on TV called Love is a four letter word and this was the soundtrack played all the way through.

  • @cristi91 It's not a song....

  • @cristi91 It's not a song.Gosh!Why does everybody say that?!

  • @Mr1329932 I apologize for my mistake, Can you please enlighten me, what is the correct way of referring to this beautiful piece of music? - Either way we all know what I meant...

  • This the lovers theme on "Somewhere in time" movie, Christopher Reed and Jayne Seymour, 1980.

  • @Wroclawysck Yes, and one of my favorite movies. I am usually not a movie fan. When someone does come up with a film like "Somewhere In Time" I do admit that from time to time someone does a remarkable job of entertaining me.

  • Absolutely, stunningly beautiful music.

  • I adore this song, it came to me when I was in a very dark place and it brought me out and life was good again.XXX

  • I like all the comments I've read too and they are worth the while reading and we all want to express our sincere appreciation to you Congratulations

  • @thkem23onijSb You're welcome!

  • BRILLIANT MUSIC!!! It's amazing that music has a language & life all it's own. It touches our emotions & it leads us to where ever it goes. Much like the waves on the waters. What beauty it holds for all of us.

  • Two people hate being moved to tears

  • Nothing in particular in my head, (and I mean that) ahhah When I hear what I call pure and beautiful music I cry. To me music is a very emmotional experience.

  • I first heard this song in the movie Somewhere in time. It's a beautiful song.

  • Wow, so beautiful it made me cry................

  • @Bubberscat how did it make you cry...what was going through your head?

  • Thank you for sharing..its a lovely song..wish I can play it in the piano..:)

  • @angelshine10 Anytime!

  • @angelshine10 / I think your find this was the theme music to a Charlie Chaplin film called Limelight some years ago. It was and still remains my favourite piece of classical music ever. Thanks for posting it piano77man77

  • @hailey145 You are very welcome!

  • The composition of my LIFE...

  • One of the sountracks of my life - thanks so much my friend :0)

  • @monicamonni You are very welcome!

  • Please, please who played this, one of the most wonderful recordings of this mastaerpiece.

    Frank

  • @promyomy if i'm not mistaken, its Jeno Jando on piano with Budapest Symphony Orchestra

  • @EitanRaimov Thank you very much for clarifying. I have always wondered who the pianist was, ever since I heard this performance. To this day, I still download performances of XVIII op. 43 and this performance still outshines them all in my opinion. I looked up the album the performance was from, and shows it was released in 1994 (the album itself, a four-disc compilation).

    Thanks again!

  • @piano77man77 ur more than wellcome! glad if i helped. totaly agree on this being one of the greatest performances. i have this version on one of the "collection" discs (bought it after i found out exactly whos performance it is)

anyway u'r more than wellcome! :)

  • I got goose bumps everytime I hear this piece......moves one to the very depths . I request this be played at any service when I'm gone along w/ Clair de Lune.

  • can U send me the partiture of this song???

  • @maquina1454 I regret to inform you that I only have the piano solo sheet music, which I cannot send digitally. Sorry!

  • musique sublime, film un jour sans fin beau

  • I first herard this when I was about 4 rs. old in C. Amer. It resonated in y SOul. I've heard bits and pieces since then, but never knew the title, until I thought of going to the "100 Most Popular Classics" on Youtube.

    Voila! I just found it!

It's a Soul thing, you know!

  • i think it's the best and number one song of all time , it's amazing , i feel happeness every time i listen to this song, thumps up if you agree!!!!

  • As dianestrain so stated. This , to me, almost goes beyond the heading of just music. It presents itself with a certain eloquence and evokes so many feelings and emotions that it does stand alone. I can't imagine someone listening to this and not becoming emotionally involved in it's simple purity. I have four pieces of music I've requested to be played when I'm gone. This is one of them.

  • This is ME. I've probably played this just about everyday for over 15 years. I live in Boston; however, while in Utah I heard this beautiful Music at the Symphony. And the movie "Somewhere in Time" simply blew me away when I saw it long after I had been listening. I had no idea this was so much a part of the Soundtrack.....I'm too much of a romantic! :-) Diane in Boston

  • @dianestrain I've seen this played several times live and it is by far the most emotional music I've ever heard. It feels so natural and accepting in it's tone. How anyone can sit at a symphony listening to this and not be truly moved emotionally is beyond me. There are four pieces of music I've requested to be played at my funeral and this is one of them. (Of course, not the whole of this piece) lol This music, simply put, is magical.

  • Nicely done. Wonderful music. Thanks!!

  • Lang Lang performed this piece at Washington DC on the 4th of July. He did an awesome job. He's a legend in the making!

  • Superbe

  • piano77man77 - Favorite composition & Beautiful Memories. Thank You.

  • @pennymusicMAma Thank you!

  • love this song, but I prefer if the pianist takes the tempo slower

  • Este es un tema bellisimo, además que el pianista es muy bueno.

  • I believe this was the version used in the movie Somewhere in time. This is so beautiful.

  • who is performing it? it's a great performance of the piece, and love the video!!! :)

  • who plays it? it's a great performance of the piece, and nice video!!! :)

  • @noodawXparis713 Thanks a lot! Honestly, I have no clue as to which orchestra it was that performed it. It didn't provide the details of each piece; in fact, it was actually from a "cinema classics" album that I'm having trouble finding. The orchestra does sound like it could have been the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra or the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

  • @noodawXparis713 After listening to so many versions of this piece, I still have to say this is my favorite one though!

  • @piano77man77 oops haha sorry i didnt mean to post it twice. and thanks! i love this version too

  • There is another version, might have just been posted. Trouble is, the orchestra overpowers the pianist. That could be because of poor microphone placement.
