  • Crazy, but funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice music !

  • Crazy, there is a problem what everybody want to prevent, but it is high ratet and whatched often....like me

  • the bbc news logo went on for 1:05 secs

    god!

  • BBC News 24 went off air due to a power faillure

  • so much for 3,2,1. it was more like 3,2,1,1,1,1,1,1 LOL

  • Okay, I din't see this one, but that's kind of scary.

They crap out all the time.

  • ( 10 minits)

And this is BBC World News.

  • Basically around 6.30, News 24 goes off the air and the testcard was shown for an hour. Then we get recorded BBC World as you will see from that clip and at 9pm is when a UK News 24 presenter comes on from make shift studios at Westminster.

  • So who was uplinking into (?) Astra ?? Westminster or TV Center?

  • Whilst I'm not too hot on the technical side of things, I know the studio at Westminster took over when News 24 finally came back on air live from 9pm that night. This clip is from 9pm. A total of 2.5 hours downtime which included Testcard and News 24 still caption for an hour and then recorded BBC World for the remainder.

  • The Problems were Shown Every Hour Because At The BBC TV Centre Had Power Problems

  • Remember also you're not necessarily just watching World - for a couple of hours full World pres went out on News 24 for a couple of hours.

  • they are using the bbc news titles for the uk

  • Uk titles for the world news lol

  • Not strictly true as it was this point that News 24 left the recorded footage from BBC World to do their own programming.

  • and BBC world is not only run from TV centre

they can be run from Washington

Singapore HongKong new york;the BBC bureaus run BBCworld if there is a problem in london

  • yes but we centralise playout to TVC

  • Well, if there's a blackout at TV Center, they can produce from Milbank or the Mailbox.

  • Now it is RB and BM. MB has no role in it anymore other than studios.

  • What?

  • Red Bee - RB

    BBC Birmingham - BM

    Milbank - MB

  • why did they use the national news titles

  • Ha Ha!

  • if the recording just come from SEAsia... then you will experience more of "similar" happenings like that.

  • Is it a YouTube user??

  • Yup

  • wow, the noice in the background..

  • Good old days when there was little mention of terrorism.

  • Yes those were the days son.

  • Now to hook up my computer to my Home theatre system for solid base effects.Excellent.The BBC music always gets my hair standing on edge.

  • Too bad it's not in stereo!

  • Nice one!
