This is my favororite of Gene's songs, although he has never done anything that I don't like. The first time I saw him live was in Scope in Norfolk Va in 1973 & have been a diehard fan ever since.Lets get him in the Country Music Hall Of Fame while he is still here to see it. He definately deserves it.

I recenlty saw Gene on the new Crook and Chase shows and he sang Fairwell Party and it seemed that he had lost a little something in his voice when he tried to hit that high note. What did you think. HOw did he sound? I'm sure he was still fantasitc though no matter what....b/c he is. I was blessed to get to see Gene in concert and get his autograph in Paducah KY about 15 years ago.
