Yup, comments have been plagued by half-baked retards. There's so much more to FFVII than what people give it credit for. It's like reading a great book. No matter how much time has passed, or how many stories like it have been written - it still stands the test of time as one of the greatest.
A lot of you still don't get it... if you aren't more than satisfied with the game that came out in 1997, then you don't truly love ffvii. What you're in love with is the idea of beautiful graphics. The original game is perfect in my eyes, just as it is.

That's a great looking UI and HUD, and it's obvious you put a fair amount of time and thought into the layout. There could be a few slight changes here and there, such as the HP/MP bars could be rounded, and your missing a few things like sort. But like I said very good job
Combat systems where you don't have to enter any command, and the action is all automatic, because it's a CGI and not gameplay? Yeah, definitively better than FFXIII. Of course, the entire game being a CGI would also be non-linear and you could do anything you wanted with those graphics. How could SE not think of that? Oh wait, maybe because it's impossible.
That is incredible artwork, man! I'd wish I could draw stuff like that. I'm in the middle of designing and programming a game much like FF7 in 2D (how could I not be inspired by it, I'm a programmer and a HUGE fan!!), and I've actually just finished the shop, battle and talking mechanisms, the menus, music-engine and worldmap...but man, my menus look nothing like yours. I suck at drawing, so I went the style of the PS1 version of FF7 for menus and battle-progress. Thanks for the inspiration!

Didnt play 7 for very long (problably because i was to busy loving 8) but would like to play the remake. So hopefully after theyve remade 7 they'll do remake 8.
The remake will never come, so get yourself a PC version, and mash it up with the amazing mods from Qhimm's forum. You can go HD if you want to, the menus are updated so they look smoother, the gamecharacters have been massively remastered, and many textures have been updated to look very spiffy, all by die-hard fans of the game. Even though the music mod is nice, I'd recommend using the Yamaha SoftSynth XG instead, and use the original MIDI-files. Less trouble, still EPIC!
What fonts did you use? I believe it's Square721BT for the skill and stat names, but I have no idea what it is for the HP/MP/EXP number, the "Experience" text and all similar texts.

They announced that they are going to make a remake of final fantasy 10 for the ps vita. I dont think they will ever do a remake of FF7. They have a big schedule from different final fantasy games to Kingdom of hearts.

I wish more people new about this but the only reason why FF XIII's battle system sucks is because they had to downgrade it because they had complications in making it multiplatform for the xbox. They had an entirely new, non repetitive advanced battle system. Which is why they are making the game FF XIII VERSUS *Hence the word "VERSUS"* They will have the advanced battle system FF XIII was supposed to get. That's why it will be an exclusive only for the PS3.

I just came by it by mistake but it seemed plausible because the fact FF XIII versus is just an exclusive for the ps3 does make a whole lot of sense. Since they did first announce FFXIII to be on the ps3 before it was announced to the xbox. Anyways i'm still going to play the sequel to this game because the story itself is to die for. Cant say much about the Battle system.

I was hoping a VII remake would get announced in time to be the swan song of the Ps3. But now I realize how dumb that would be. A completely modernized FFVII will probably get launched for PS4 as its climax title. It's the Pacquiao vs Mayweather of the video game world; highly elusive, highly desired, and highly lucrative. like an ace up their sleeve, all they need is a good field and the right time to play it.

@darkbahamuth1 The computer picks the commands for you, not the ROLES, and the roles are the entire point of the system. FFXIII has far more strategy and depth than the other FFs, it just went over the heads of people who cant interpret change.
I always laugh when people say FFXIII takes no strategy. Go back to the old FFs and see how many battles you can win by just pressing X. Now try the same with FFXIII. Youll see my point.

It had no towns, no exploration. No world map. Story wasn't deep at all. Hope and Vanille's voice acting was annoying and over the top, and the whole game was linear as FUCK....felt like I was playing a movie. I didn't feel immersed into the game like i was with FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, ....hell even FFX.
The battle system did take more strategy then previous FF's ill admit that, but thats not everything.

@cambel12 you do know that there was an option to make it turn base or time base. That is was there was a stat dealing with speed/time. most people went with turn base because it was easier, that was call easy mode. I'm not say that ff 9 had difficulties, but changing from time base to turn base is like being in a "real fight and having your opponent only swing once and you do the same. not even retards fight like that. that. so you and the 3 people that thumbed you up are wussies.

I wish more people new about this but the only reason why FF XIII's battle system sucks is because they had to downgrade it because they had complications in making it multiplatform for the xbox. They had an entirely new, non repetitive advanced battle system. Which is why they are making the game FF XIII VERSUS *Hence the word "VERSUS"* They will have the advanced battle system FF XIII was supposed to get. That's why it will be an exclusive only for the PS3.

There is an article somewhere around the net about square enix saying that. I just came by it by mistake but it seemed plausible because the fact FF XIII versus is just an exclusive for the ps3 does make a whole lot of sense. Since they did first announce FFXIII to be on the ps3 before it was announced to the xbox. Anyways i'm still going to play the sequel to this game because the story itself is to die for. Cant say much about the Battle system.

@redninja302 seriously.. both console are old.. software engineers developed awesome game engines like frostbyte2 (battlefield 3 works on this.. take a look at the amazing graphics) but this lazy asses from sony and microsoft refuse to create a new console (ps4 or x box 720 for example) game deevelope brands are angry as hell cause they produce qualitative awesome games in graphics and gameplay but both consoles lag in graphics and performance. thats why i changed to pc

I was hoping a VII remake would get announced in time to be the swan song of the Ps3. But now I realize how dumb that would be. A completely modernized FFVII will probably get launched for PS4 as its climax title. It's the Pacquiao vs Mayweather of the video game world; highly elusive, highly desired, and highly lucrative. like an ace up their sleeve, all they need is a good field and the right time to play it.

@darkbahamuth1 The computer picks the commands for you, not the ROLES, and the roles are the entire point of the system. FFXIII has far more strategy and depth than the other FFs, it just went over the heads of people who cant interpret change.
I always laugh when people say FFXIII takes no strategy. Go back to the old FFs and see how many battles you can win by just pressing X. Now try the same with FFXIII. Youll see my point.

It had no towns, no exploration. No world map. Story wasn't deep at all. Hope and Vanille's voice acting was annoying and over the top, and the whole game was linear as FUCK....felt like I was playing a movie. I didn't feel immersed into the game like i was with FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, ....hell even FFX.
The battle system did take more strategy then previous FF's ill admit that, but thats not everything.

@cambel12 you do know that there was an option to make it turn base or time base. That is was there was a stat dealing with speed/time. most people went with turn base because it was easier, that was call easy mode. I'm not say that ff 9 had difficulties, but changing from time base to turn base is like being in a "real fight and having your opponent only swing once and you do the same. not even retards fight like that. that. so you and the 3 people that thumbed you up are wussies.
