  • I'm gonna makee it

  • I Would like To Make it but i dont have Minecraft i just have minecraft Pocket edition :(

  • Nice I've been looking for this for axwhile

  • would it be possible for me to extend the redstone (with repeaters) to attach the switches to a safer fire zone? It wood be fun to have a sort of launch zone.

  • @thanoxyn1 Yeah, thats easily doable =]

  • Version**

  • If this was a later vision you could just use a redstone repeater

  • You must really have an affinity for TNT man

And also good to see some good old fashioned blowing the holy crap out of an island videos :)

  • Good tutorial:)

  • Hey Alessio?, when i shot mine, it just blew the whole thing up! wtf did i do wrong?

  • Awesome tutorial dude! I liked how you had the different stages all built and in line!

  • Helped me kill sum mo'foking sheep! :D Thanks

  • Even better than invedit is toomanyitems, if you know how to install mods. In game inventory editing mod that automatically adds mod items.

  • please tell me a quick way 2 get gunpowder?

  • @modwlego Kill lots of Creepers I guess ;). I use INVEdit, but I never use that when I am playing single player legit.

  • @AlessioJWilliams i make my cannons with two levels of tnt and long so mines a very long range one takes ages to load though i have the two rows connecting to one lever and the bullet tnt block to another

  • @AlessioJWilliams You ever tried TooManyItems? No need to keep exiting, you use that in game, unlike invedit.

  • @modwlego I use INVEdit, just Google it and it'll be the first hit =]

  • this is going to help me heaps when defending my fort from the zombies! :)

  • wiki brought me

  • @WAATOORMELOON Do you approve?=D

  • @WAATOORMELOON HAPPY DAYS!!!!

  • Thanks for the tutorial. I cant wait to try this out :D

  • @BlackMogget Thanks for the comment =] Glad to hear you enjoyed =D

  • How did you get all that TNT and diamonds and such?

  • @TheFamine123 either giant dedication, or more likely the map editor

  • @bioleech Answered this in the FAQ. INVEdit people! Google it! =P

  • yes you screwed up!, you blew my freaking face off...

  • @robbangy Probably deserved it, lol.

  • Nice tutorial and when i built it i used obsidian i don't if that had an effect but when i lit the charge the TNT closest to me wouldn't drop into the water so i had to make the water 3 blocks and it worked beautifully. Thank you.

  • IT WORKED! but my cannon was blown up -__

  • Would it be possible to make a 3x3x5 and hollow out the middle and place the shell there?

  • @MatteV2 I'm a little unsure of what you're asking here, could you maybe link me a screenshot or a video?

  • Great tutorial. I absolutely love the detailed explanation and then how you actually went through the process. Very, very informative.

  • eh... i'm trying to make a DEATH CANNON not really a little tiny thing... but everytime i try it it blows up D:<

  • @JranimatorAlexander Check out my massive cannon, or maybe my Blunderbuss. Might be more what you're looking for =]

  • @AlessioJWilliams Essentially what i'm trying to build is a way for me to transport myself at rocketing fast speeds accross the map. Yes... i'm going to be invincible while doing this it will be fun :D

  • @JranimatorAlexander you have to make sure to have a water spring block so that all the tnt is in water :P

  • @Nascend Bad comment. You didnt say where the block needs to be. The water block needs to be out of a TNT block area, so it doesnt get used up =]

  • Argh, I tried it and it blew the whole damn thing up! Maybe I shouldn't have used planks?

  • i wonder if it could be used to fire mobs. if so im going to annoy my friend by firing creeper at them, then your shot is homing and self detonating :D

  • Does it work on beta? cause i tried and it blew up in my face... twice. I THINK I did it right...

  • @iCheesey Were they in water? because if they are not in water, it will explode.

  • @genericname1111 Well I realized what i did wrong-- one of the TNT's was covering the water source. I fixed it and tried again. Funny thing was that everything blew up, BUT it fixed itself a second afterwards so.... it worked I guess? XD

  • @iCheesey Sometimes solutions find themselves =P

  • its fun to hit people with tnt :D

  • This new youtube format rly rly ticks me off, where the hell is the play button?!?!?!

  • Great vid, btw you can just put a repeater on the shooting end and replace the left lever with a button, then remove the other.

Put as many delays as you need!

  • @juliand665 Gargh! Did you watch the video all the way through? I talked about why I DONT use delays! Hehe, I prefer doing it this way, you can do it whatever way you feel comfortable =]

  • @AlessioJWilliams I did watch it all the way through, i just said it for n00bs who didn't know that.

    LOL

  • do cannlons work in alpha?

  • Also, i don't want to bug you, but is there a way to lower the height of which the Shot goes? i had to go close to the Resource hoggers to hit them, and thats where they could just come charging out the gates with swords and shit

  • Thanks to you, i've managed to be able to attack a bunch of people building a castle in one place

They died, i laughed, and you get a Thanks

  • @ATGOD2 Yay! Carnage!

  • Awesome! Can't wait to start shooting TNT at stuff :D!

  • thats pretty dam epic

  • @Crayolabunnie1 Thanks, I know =DDDD.... I'm not arrogant at all.... Noooo, of course not XDDD

  • For some reason, the farthest back TNT (the one closest to me) doesn't want to land in the water. It like rests on the edge of the water, partly on the "cap" cobblestone and destroys the whole thing. I made sure it was made exactly the same. You are using Alpha, so maybe it's a beta mechanics update

  • @DarkAxz Still works for me in beta 0.0 Try putting a block on the end of the upper row, encasing the TNT thus:

    ooooo

    oTTTT

    ooooo

    o=Blocks

    T=TNT

This should help your water problem =]

  • Dude Thats Sick must make one NOW!!!

  • @AminaFilms Go nuts buddy!!! Post a response if you'd like =DDD

  • this is awesome

  • @Glitches0and0stuff XDDDD Not bad eh? =P

  • Why does someone dislike this ahahaha it doesn't even make sense!

  • @DarkAimz They're probably just jealous ;)

  • it fails.

one in seven shots fails, ends up blowing up your face.

    nice tho

  • @kingdavid99887766554 You probably just used it incorrectly.

  • @kingdavid99887766554 Never had a problem with this design at all. I think PivAd123 is right =]

  • Very good first tutorial :D

  • @InvisibleHandgun Cheers, i've made may more =D

  • Whenever I do this it blows up my cannon D:

  • @MrDuckBringer Did you make sure to put the water in your cannon? Water prevents TNT from blowing up the surrounding squares.

  • @Nexxion UM, acctully it works now, I did put water in it before, but now it works :P

Also I created a modified version of the cannon in my work that fires much farther, but uses a lot more tnt.

  • @MrDuckBringer Likewise ;) He's called Big Sammy XD. I've also made bigger cannons ;)

  • this video started while i was playing minecraft i was like VOICES??? D:

  • @MRRrushzz Didnt you hear? Its a new update, me ingame ;)

  • This is awesome.

I built one with Obsidian, and the charge blew up once.

I keep it as a waterfall - everything blew the fuck up except the obsidian.

Yeah, I need to build a bigger one

  • i gotta try this someday =P thanks for the tutorial

  • its cool

  • That was very insightful, I don't think I would have figured out how to build a cannon on my own accord, and seeing it built and put to use makes things a lot more clear now!

  • This would be awesome if I had large amounts of tnt to waste =P

  • @hagelt18 Google: 'INVEdit' first hit is a program that lets you custom edit your inventory =]. Its how I get all my resources for these videos =D

  • @AlessioJWilliams

I appreciate the suggestion, but I intentionally play with limited supplies normally. It may be fun sometime though to use mods/hacks to play around with things like this. =]

  • @hagelt18 Yeah thats why I do it =DDD. Theres something satisfying about being able to build something, blow it up and still have enough resources to build twenty more ;) XD

  • Gonna try it on the roof of my house sometime xD (and hope not to blow everything up in the proces, lol)

Thanks for the tutorial though, it was very clear! :D

  • @bartjoboy If you pull it off let me know, I cant understand why people cant seem to replicate my efforts =S

  • @AlessioJWilliams Hehe, will do. :P Probably just stupid people that activate a bomb before activating the charge or something.. xD

  • @bartjoboy Probably XD. Good to know that someone got it built right =]. I cant figure out what is going wrong for everyone =S

  • @AlessioJWilliams Well, for me, the tnt charge block bounces when it falls onto a water "source" block and thus blows up the entire cannon. A simple fix is to simply extend your cannon one more block so that the charges fall into the water rather than the water source.

  • @AlessioJWilliams I managed to make it work, the TNT just disappeared in the air though..

  • @momomo544 It just exploded in midair? Maybe if you pull the shot lever a little bit later, the fuse will be longer =]

  • Doesnt work for me either. Just blows the cannon.

  • *Applause* !!!!

  • @BW2Ilidian4922POP *Bows and thanks* !!! =DD

  • I see lots of comments saying that it just explodes, are you sure you placed all the blocks exactly the same way i did? If you place anything one block out then the cannon won't work >.<

  • thanks man, this is simple and retard-friendly. Some might say you explain it too throughtly but I don't care since it works. Thank you!

  • does this not work for anyone else? Ive made it the exact same way, and it just blows the cannon up every time.

  • I build this exactly to specifecations every time and allways end up with catastophic failure. EPIC SAD FACE! :(

  • I dream of the day when cannons in minecraft will have much greater potential, perhaps with better aiming and customization, and when they'll have much more uses.... True enough, it works well for blowing things at a distance, but if it's enemies we're speaking about...

Maybe when dragons will be implemented =]

  • @ThePenFactory Oh yes =] I too dream of a day when I can build one of these in game and use it properly and efficiently. I was actually working on a cannon which had variable aim and range on it =D it was difficult but it was working until my world crashed >.<

  • @AlessioJWilliams One other thing is that if you place 2 blocks up infront of the slab, and you cook it aroudn 3-4 seconds, the shot will go straight up and you can make Fireworks

  • @MajorFacepalm12 Yeah, I tested a similar method using sand blocks to make fireworks, it was extremely successful =]. I'll hopefully be able to show you guys it if I get my save back >.<

  • @ThePenFactory

    Dragons?

I'll be using it to blow up goblin villages.

  • @kikon901 Good call, I forgot about those =DDD

  • you should use buttons

  • @maribakumon Lots of reasons not to, listed a few quite a lot of times =]

  • i build one of these on top of my base in that awesome red stone from the nether, turns out its not that strong as it seems, and will result in killing you and destroying everything

  • This helped me a lot, thanks!

  • @cgpirre So I saw ;) Nice video =P

  • @AlessioJWilliams

Thanks, lol. Lots of fiddling to get it right; and I blew em up at least 5 times :D

  • the cannon works but in this game a cannon isnt worth it except for the initial "WOW" moment

  • @mw2chronicles Thank you for pointing that out, I discovered that a long time ago =]. Still, the initial 'WOW' moment is what gets my videos their views =]

  • are you using INVEdit?? i use that its a big use

  • @MrM1kl Yes I am, its much more efficient than killing loads of Creepers to get my TNT XD. I wouldnt be able to get videos out half as fast if I had to do that >.<

  • @AlessioJWilliams On INVedit, in the armor damage, write -10000. with the minus your armor will be invincible and you will not lose health or armor. ;)

  • @HeavyVideoz Watch some of my later videos =]. I already found that out XD

  • @AlessioJWilliams Oh sorry, i noticed this just now XD

  • @MrM1kl Wait, I am new to minecraft and what does INVEdit do? what is the difference between that and alpha?

  • @aBradley312 INVEdit lets you create any item you want for your inventory (hence the invincible armour and unlimited TNT =P). Alpha is the current version of Minecraft, INVEdit is a different programme =]

  • 0:19 the cow was shy

  • @fireflambe Lol, shy cow =]

  • i like cannons, im looking forward to building one, i think ill build yours and kiershars and compare them :P

  • @teh1337ghost Kiershars? I'll have a look at that, I've never heard of him before 0.o Good luck with your own cannons mate =]

  • @MissileAntiMatiere I prefer to use stone in all honesty. It makes it easier to move it if its in the wrong place, obsidian takes far to long >.< Still, nice one for making a legit one ingame =P

  • Sorry for spamming the comments XD

I fixed the problem all together.

I had to make my trough one water block longer. :D

    Awesome video btw XD

  • @TheGreenTroll Wow, lots of comments =O Lol XD. If you have any more problems then feel free to PM me, saves comment space ;) Just kidding XD. Still, if you need to chat just drop me a PM, I'll help if I can =]

  • Okay I really must ask... how come yours doesn't destroy the Canon afterwards? I did everything the same and mine just keeps blowing up afterwards. This is starting to get frustrating lol.

  • @TheGreenTroll Never mind I figured it out, I used a stone instead of a step on accident. Rofl. Fail. :'D

  • @TheGreenTroll Erm.. okay so I fixed THAT... but it STILL blows up xD... it launches the TNT but the remaining two TNT somehow get stuck in the trough (Maybe?) and blow up my cannon Dx

  • i thought it was good.

  • @maverick62990 Woop woop! Thanks very much =D

  • I dont get it! What is purpse of canon? What do you do with it?

  • @rhcppetar95 For fun =P Blow dat mountain up!

  • nice vid ... but why not use buttons instead of levers? then you wouldn't have to reset afterwards ^^

  • @YoungManKlaus Personal preference =]. I prefer to use ladders so that when I'm checking the circuits on more complicated cannons I can make sure that it will all prime properly when I set it off =]. Hope this helped!

  • @AlessioJWilliams makes sense (I'm quite new to minecraft so I have much to learn ;))

  • @YoungManKlaus No problem at all! Looking at the basic function of levers and buttons would make the decision clear; the button is the better choice for firing the cannon. However, when building new cannons you discover that its easier to use a lever to design it all, but its easier to use a button to fire it... I'm just far to lazy to put a button on it when its finished XD

  • very simple and compact design compared to all other tutorials I've seen. thank you

  • @ScarfaceShifter No problem =]. If you're thinking about making some more complicated cannons then check out my other videos, you might see something that inspires you =]

  • why make it so high if ur only doing one layer of shot?

  • @harrignos This is a very basic cannon, but the construction allows for people to understand the workings of a basic cannon, whilst leaving the design accessible to be modified into, for example as you suggested, a stacked cannon. Stacked cannons require a one block gap when they're being built for the wires to run. If people get it into their heads that this is the way to build a basic cannon then they should find it much easies to build more complicated cannons =] Hope this helpe!

  • That step by step mustve taken awhile! Props for the effort, a well done tutorial!

  • @turtlehater2 Thanks XD. It didnt take me to long =]. Good to see people appreciate it! =D

  • Nice!

  • Very well done, good sir!

  • @zeHoboCop Thanks very much =]

  • i just got an idea! can't you just make one lever and a bunch of repeaters connecting to the second wire?

  • @Sinaler Indeed you could, but thats a bit awkward to produce quickly and efficiently, and you cant cook a shot =]

  • Execellent tutorial on how to build and fire a basic cannon. I knew of cannons, but wasn't exactly sure of how they fired. This demonstration proved wonderful and now I am building a cannon myself. The only problem I see with cannons, though, is that they cause damage to you. I'm pretty sure by building an extention to the barrel, this could be remedied. Anyways, great tutorial.

  • @dazkid33 Thanks very much =]. You could indeed extend the barrel, but this is for a basic tutorial only, this design allows for much modification but keeps it accessible to new comers =].

  • This is a brilliant idea; I didn't even think this was possible.

  • @kindofdoon Its not very difficult to pull off =]. Just took me several days of practice and burnt fingers =P

  • Win!:) gunna have a go now...

  • @BraDRoBBo Nice one! Post a video response if you'd like, I'd love to see how you get along and maybe give you a pointer in the right direction =]

  • @AlessioJWilliams

Works :) except its on SMP so you can't see the TNT once activated but you can see the result :D Bye-bye walls ;) ;D! thanks for the help mate =D!

  • @BraDRoBBo No problem =D. Just good to hear that someone is having fun with it =P

  • thanks it works

  • @Jeremyz19 Good to know =D Thanks very much =]

  • This works great! Thanks a lot.

  • @lyksar No problem, I hope it works well for you =DD. If you have any ideas for additions or changes then would you drop me a message? I love getting input on my stuff XD

  • @lyksar No problem =]. Hope you manage to blow something big up! =DD

  • @lyksar No problem mate =]. Have fun blowing things up! =DDD

  • Thanks man, this is awesome!

  • @DRASTICKmeasures No problem =] Just hope it helped!
