The last West European country to ban the death penalty was France, back in 1981. Their rationale was the best I've heard. They said no state that purports to be democratic should have the right to kill its own people. That is a practice of authoritarian, undemocratic regimes. No government ought to have the power to kill people. We should see that the way we see cutting a thief's hand off for stealing. It is a primitive, barbaric practice. So is the death penalty.

As far as Davis... I actually started looking up his case, the trial, and the facts about it. He was guilty as hell, not even a remote doubt in my mind anymore. That case actually has nothing to do with my opinion of the death penalty.
i agree with the death penalty however i would never easily execute that action without 100% conviction with proofs that such a person has took the lives of innocent people.
@Toshiogo1 its inevitable, and your support or agreemnt with cap punishment makes no sense. it doesnt deterr murders and killings and has proven to be quite in-humain. the deathpenalty doesnt solve any problems, it doesnt bring justice to anyone, and most of all doesnt bring back any victims of these hainus crimes. put them to work under stict hours if you will, have them provide services for society, let them actually pay for their murders. just executing them turns our hands just as red. peace

A murderer can never bring justice because he or she will never be able to bring back the person they killed. Each murderer's case is different so I am not saying to apply the death penalty to ALL murderers but you have to understand that most murderers have a psychological problem in their head that makes them believe murder is justice and the only way to solve a problem is
