It probably detected the radar detector in the car that was pulled over. If it did detect the other Spectre then cops could detect yours and pull you over for suspecting that you have a detector which you do have.

How are you not sure your not picking up the vehicles RD , maybe thats why they are pulled over?, or maybe the police still has Radar on, from what I understand ka triggers spectre ?
Yeah there was no Ka on at the time as I had the Bel in the car as well and it detected nothing. However, what you said could have been a possibility had Ka been in use.

You can actually retune the Spectre to detector radar, it just won't do it very well.

It's not a radar detector.. it's used by police to detect people who have a radar detector.
