I got one of these not to long ago, I can't seem to get anything other than music to work on it. I can't find a way to install any programs that werent on it already. Does anyone know of a way I could put a different OS on it, or at least put some other programs on it.... or update flash.... since the flash on it is to old to watch youtube vids.

@D8mien13 Look if you can access the bios. If you can switch to "boot device: usb" you may be able to load one of the ultra lightweight linux distros from an usb stick and format the SDcard. Then install a fresh and prober OS from the usb stick.

@idcriativo Its Linux, so there really is only one choice. Use GNC GCC. Linux used it when it was first written and still uses it today. I would also mention ICC (Intel C/C++ Compiler) but this is MIPS based so GCC is your only option. Use G++ if you can a c++ compiler.

@stbays That thing looks cool but I have a hard time calling that thing a netbook. At 4.5 lbs is weighs the same as my 15.4" laptop. The original point of a netbook was a cheap, inexpensive replacement for standard laptops for those only wanting to do web browsing or word processing. I think it defeats the purpose. Its just a small gaming laptop at this point. It also looks somewhat bulky from the photos. Not trashing it at all - just I don't brand it as a netbook.

It's screen is only 11.6" and while it's definitely more then most Netbooks, it just barely qualifies as one. For an alternative though, the HP Mini 311 might be more what you're looking for and I think it could also handle Crysis. It's got an Nvidia ION gpu.

Android is actually a linux distribution, even if it looks different, you are running the same open source kernel that is on that laptop.

Interesting; my point:

Price under $100 is very nice / boost it a little bit(looks like the UI is kinda unresponssive sometimes/slow to draw graphics) and get some more eye candyness on the UI. Boot time is also a bit slow; is there a suspend/hibernate mode? do you have 1 year guarantee?

@joebayron Remember the OS also takes space. A 700Mb movie would take up all of the space most likely. You can add an SD card up to 32 Gb (If they support SDHC I wouldn't think it would... ) But even than the speed would be just too slow... go buy a referb of an eePC or something haha
