Hoppe this is not like operation flashpoint dragon rising example where the first game was awesome but the sequel (dragon rising totally sucked) however people had very high expectations about it and then it turned out to be a disapointment. As a Deus Ex fan this footage is very worrying. The original is not the masterpiece it is because it had fluid gameplay, cool moves and excellent graphics. Obviously I welcome all those things, but if they overlook consistent story and character progression I, and many others, will never forgive them.

I know what you mean. Still playing the first game (I know, late fan), but already I can see what the hype was all about. Very nice influence of story progression to the most minor detail, and the RPG element in the sense of skill progression was well done - WAAAY better than in most modern titles. Hopefully the difficulty of the first and the story/character development is just as good, or at least close to it.

I agree that most games lack the luster of an immerse story. Though COD and the like have their market, I don't want them to intrude on Games such as these. The thing that is a double edged sword is games such as this take a long(er) time to develop. All I have to say: I'm buying this. For me, as I am older, it compliments how I feel (i. e. Corporate corruption and governmental chaos). It just strikes a chord with me.

Ay I enjoy Call of Duty's online. It's one of the more enjoyable online games I've played. That being said it's NO WHERE near my top choices of games I've played. Mass Effect 1 and 2 easily take the top spots. With uncharted, killzone, fallout 3, oblivion, zelda ocarina of time, Super mario galaxy 1 and 2 etc.. @bataarofficial if you compare games to Baldur's Gate II, you'll NEVER be satisfied. They didn't even make many games BACK THEN like BG2. Bioware still produces solid titles, though I admit I haven't seen many games that give you tons of freedom while still creating an epic story the way Deus Ex did. I'm guessing Deus Ex 3 will have a decent enough storyline, but won't allow you as much choice as the first game.
