I am SO incredibly thankful to be born in 1993 :) With this music i can look back on my childhood (living somewhere else where i haven't been in something like 6 years now) way better than i normally can, and realize how awesome it was! Nowadays things are just so... *Sigh*

I used to spend ages wandering around these routes and the lake of rage just so I could listen to this theme. (No wonder my game time always clocked so high)

I don't think HG/SS ruined this theme, I still enjoy that version too, but nothing compares to the original.

HG/SS can suck a dick. This is classic, right here, and their cover is terribad.

TBH, this song means Pokemon to me as much as the RBY Gym Leader theme-setting out on a journey from the quiet town you've been in all your life, seeing new and mysterious things, braving the wilderness in the name of adventure.

Because the HG/SS mix of the Lake Of Rage theme is BAD. To me, it betrays the feeling of the song-losing the purity of it by rambling on here and there pointlessly.

I dislike rambling badly enough to desire to possess Jason Mraz' vocal cords without the rest of him attached. The fact that it's happened to perhaps my favorite non-battle theme from all of Pokemon? Not. Fucking. Acceptable.

I highly disagree with you sir. I fail to see how the HG/SS one doesn't seem nearly as good. Why is it you say that? Is it because it's not 8-bit? Sounds a bit retro-fanboyish to me. I love the original song too, but you have to be honest with yourself. The new one kicks its ass. It has more feeling to it, because you can hear more to it. Infact, they're the same song. They sound exactly the same, except for the quality. Sure, this one has more nostalgia, I'll give it that much.

I'd go as far to say that it's an extremely succesful and effective remix/remake of the original score. Some songs sound better now that they're revamped, but a song like Goldenrod's theme sounds better in the old GB version (mainly because they mellowed the theme down too much).

Yeah, I like to think that between red/blue/yellow music and gold/silver/crystal music there's a quantity vs. quality decision.Almost every route in r/b/y has it's own music but in g/s/c 10 routes may have the same theme but it's much more complex.I prefer gsc.
