@Dani01c don't know where you're from but it's known that the v6 can put out some nice numbers with bolt ons .. it's a mitsubishi engine that is also used by chrysler .. the chrysler version has 200hp and not much changes from the tib version .. it's all tuning and restrictions..

@Dani01c there are dyno sheets on the newtiburon forums .. bolt ons will bring you to about 230whp/230wtq if well done .. and at these power levels you can run low 13's and spank srt4's, g35's and other comparable cars ..
most people buy che cheap ebay stuff to put on their cars and thing it will do the same like .. ebay 300$ header vs sfr's 1000$ header
the ebay header will add 5hp if you're lucky .. then the sfr one .. properly made guarantees 20-25hp without tune ..

any engines can be brought easily to 100hp/liter .. but after that things start getting worse
a good example would be the dodge neon .. bolt ons, cams and a good IM is what you need to get a near 200whp setup
turbo route is even easier with those cars but it's another story ..

@Dani01c first you dont drive an is-f .. and bolt ons i mean .. intake throttle, intake manif, headers exhaust and a tune .. then the other stuff you can add .. pulleys, lightweight flywheel .. cams, valve oversize and head porting ... but when youre at that point you're at 250-270whp .. the bottom end is quite strong .. with fi you can get as much as 500hp on stock internals which ain't bad since internals aren't forged

@Dani01c i dont know about the vq35 but the newer ones don't react really well to mods .. i can't tell you why but a saw a lot of nissan forums talking about it .. there's a point where putting additionnal mods plays on the car's driveability also .. honda's and other vtec like setups are quite easy to get power without compromising driveability .. that explains why some people can get out nice numbers and still have a streetable car

@Dani01c one of the most restrictive things on those engines is the intake manifold .. which cut any possible power in the higher revs and makes most of your bolt ons innefective past that point .. that s why some cars dyno higher tq than hp with the stock cams and IM you won't get nice gains ..
@davidpaulin no, my friend has a 6spd... still in example, g35 with kinetix v+ (intake manifold) gains 14whp no more than that, and the stock intake manifold sucks so much ass, i mean the material gets very hot and it has really bad air flow compared to the kinetix and all it gains is 14whp... still dont see anything near 240whp with just bolt ons on a tiburon, the ones you saw probably had cams, sleeved heads and a couple of more things
@Dani01c there isn't an engine that will react the same .. and it doesn't mean that a bigger engine will get better gains with the same part .. the civic is a good example .. the flashpro will give pretty good gains for a 2L engine ... or another one .. some may throw rocks at me but i ve seen neon guys getting awesome numbers without having a lot of mods on their car ..the diff between the chrysler and hyundai 2.7L is the intake manifold btw ..

@Dani01c full bolt ons with cams, intake manifold and a tune should go there .. past that point if you're still n/a you won't have a streetable car .. n/a record for this engine is around 340whp .. you can always make more but without variable cam lift like the vtec it's almost impossible .. you would need to idle over like 2500rpm to keep the engine from stalling .. that's the nice thing about a honda engine :P

@kzoney Uh...the infiniti IS the skyline. That's what it's called in Japan. Nissan Skyline, 4 and 2 door, the next step after the R34 model. They just changed the name for the US market to G35 because people here have no clue about the skyline heritage. Also, Infiniti didn't even exist in Japan until recently. The 3.5 V6 is the skyline engine... So the guy is correct to call it that.

@jabba12000 the G35 is heavy compared to the 350z bro. Although the low end in both the VQ35DE 350z/G35 is better than the low end in the HR's and 37VHR's. Still though at lower speeds the weight is going to hold the G's back compared to the Z's. One of my friends has an 08 G37S and my 370z pulled harder on it before about 80mph than it pulled above 80mph if that makes sense. The weight holds it back at lower speeds

But i assure you that your RSX is slow shit and cannot beat a 3.5 altima coupe before 90 mph because i have a 350z and i only beat him by about 2 car lengths by 90 and after that i just pull away much faster.

I had 2 stage Vtech for fwy driving and when I went WOT. The vetch would kick in at 4000rpms instead of 6000 and on nthe fwy it would kick in at 6500 under light throttle

@Dani01c there are dyno sheets on the newtiburon forums .. bolt ons will bring you to about 230whp/230wtq if well done .. and at these power levels you can run low 13's and spank srt4's, g35's and other comparable cars ..
most people buy che cheap ebay stuff to put on their cars and thing it will do the same like .. ebay 300$ header vs sfr's 1000$ header
the ebay header will add 5hp if you're lucky .. then the sfr one .. properly made guarantees 20-25hp without tune ..

stock the tib puts out less power than lets say a civic Si but put 1500$ into both and the v6 tib will put down more power than the civic ... there is no replacement for displacement, not even vtec .. the only possibility would be FI but once you do the math FI is just like ioncreasing displacement ..

@Dani01c the 2.7 engine is used by mitsubishi and chrysler ..chrysler has 200hp out of the same motor .. only thing changed .. intake exhaust and IM .. same cams same heads same compression ... it's just restricted..
any engines can be brought easily to 100hp/liter .. but after that things start getting worse
a good example would be the dodge neon .. bolt ons, cams and a good IM is what you need to get a near 200whp setup
turbo route is even easier with those cars but it's another story ..

@Dani01c first you dont drive an is-f .. and bolt ons i mean .. intake throttle, intake manif, headers exhaust and a tune .. then the other stuff you can add .. pulleys, lightweight flywheel .. cams, valve oversize and head porting ... but when youre at that point you're at 250-270whp .. the bottom end is quite strong .. with fi you can get as much as 500hp on stock internals which ain't bad since internals aren't forged

@Dani01c i dont know about the vq35 but the newer ones don't react really well to mods .. i can't tell you why but a saw a lot of nissan forums talking about it .. there's a point where putting additionnal mods plays on the car's driveability also .. honda's and other vtec like setups are quite easy to get power without compromising driveability .. that explains why some people can get out nice numbers and still have a streetable car

@Dani01c one of the most restrictive things on those engines is the intake manifold .. which cut any possible power in the higher revs and makes most of your bolt ons innefective past that point .. that s why some cars dyno higher tq than hp with the stock cams and IM you won't get nice gains ..

@davidpaulin no, my friend has a 6spd... still in example, g35 with kinetix v+ (intake manifold) gains 14whp no more than that, and the stock intake manifold sucks so much ass, i mean the material gets very hot and it has really bad air flow compared to the kinetix and all it gains is 14whp... still dont see anything near 240whp with just bolt ons on a tiburon, the ones you saw probably had cams, sleeved heads and a couple of more things

@kzoney Uh...the infiniti IS the skyline. That's what it's called in Japan. Nissan Skyline, 4 and 2 door, the next step after the R34 model. They just changed the name for the US market to G35 because people here have no clue about the skyline heritage. Also, Infiniti didn't even exist in Japan until recently. The 3.5 V6 is the skyline engine... So the guy is correct to call it that.

@jabba12000 the G35 is heavy compared to the 350z bro. Although the low end in both the VQ35DE 350z/G35 is better than the low end in the HR's and 37VHR's. Still though at lower speeds the weight is going to hold the G's back compared to the Z's. One of my friends has an 08 G37S and my 370z pulled harder on it before about 80mph than it pulled above 80mph if that makes sense. The weight holds it back at lower speeds

And of course you can beat them but not at 60mph. you may have passed it after 90mph considering how the factory only allows them half throttle after 90 mph. What year is your 350z? The HR's I cant see pullin only 2 car lengths. But anything earlier were slow. I have seen S2K's keep up with the VQ35DE's plenty of times

I have seen RSX's with the same stup up I had running high 12's with slicks. They are cool cars, especially for the price and the way they can be tuned. I had 2 stage Vtech for fwy driving and when I went WOT. The vetch would kick in at 4000rpms instead of 6000 and on nthe fwy it would kick in at 6500 under light throttle

I'm quite surprised though... Tiburon in definitely weaker horspower and torque but not that much difference in speed... I'm looking forward to BK in 2008 Hyundai!

Nice rides...But it could have been unfair...G35 are 6 cylinders and tiburons come in 4 bangers and a V6...like i said could have...cuz that tibby could be a V6...either way nice rides and sweet races.

I love people who talk without knowing what they're talking about. Hyundai Tiburons have "very good" handling. And, The hyundai Tiburon is as good or better then any other sport car "in the same price range".

stock tiburon gt is not good..but tuned tiburon gt is incredible..My friend have a tuned tiburon 600 hp twin turbo and direct port nitro injection....it's a miracle car..

It's maybe because Hyundai is 1/2 the price of G35
and G35= 3.5, Tiburon= 2.7L, NO SHIT infiniti is going to win.
But Hyundai is coming up with 4.6L V8 TAU engine in 08

lets see, i know the tib gt runs around 20, what does a g35 run ya.. a fuckin lot more. I own an 03 tib gt, the interior of the g35 looks pretty damn similar to the tib's i could barely tell the difference. Good vid tho
