i have a problem to share if you can help me please. i have canon HG10 camera. imovie never detect it. i have to keep it attached for ages and suddenly massage comes that imovie detected camera and then i import my videos. you know in imovie there is a option which camera you want to slect but in my imovie 09/08 it goves only one option. all i mean is that my computer does not detect my video camera. some times it take days to import my videos.
iMovie'09 gives more than visual possibilities, however old versions iMovie (05,06) have more friendly interface. It is very inconvenient to me to work with the new version of this program.
iMovie 09 is the video editing software program that comes with iLife 09 for Mac. All new Macs come with the latest version of iLife. If you have an older Mac with an older version of iLife, you can buy iLife 09 from Apple or any online software outlet.
Alright. Sorry I just found another one. Is there multiple tracks for audio and video. Like say I wanted audio from a video clip combined with music audio, all while a video is playing. Is that possible? or does that need final cut too?
Alright thanks alot for your help. This is pretty important for what I'm doing at school with my major, so I thought an upgrade from WMM was a good idea.
To a CD or DVD for storage? Or to a DVD for playback in a DVD player? The first you just export in whatever format or quality you like and then burn a data disc. The second you would use iDVD.
In iMovie 09 when you are exporting your movie what settings do you use to have a video with such good quality as this? (My camera is HD I just dont know what settings to export it with to get the best quality possible)
As always, Great Job. That's why I am a Subscriber to your MacMost Podcasts. You give important Information & present it in a Simple way, without being annoying like other some other Podcasts I won't mention. :-) Thanks again.
Hey Gary...great look at what's new in iMovie '09. I have been a holdout doing most of my editing in FCE 3.5 but the new iMovie is making it hard not to switch.
It is set to zoom in 120%. I thought it had a great effect -- similar to what you get with image stabilization at the camera level. The second one looks smoother to me. Of course there is a limit -- it isn't magic.
what is the effect around 1:09 in between the maps were it went from one map to another ?
thanks
thebob7255 1 year ago
@thebob7255 That is just one of the iMovie 09 transitions. It is the "Swap" one.
macmostvideo 1 year ago
how did u get the effect with the maps in between ?
thanks
thebob7255 1 year ago
@thebob7255 Which effect, exactly? At what time in the video?

yea i just discovered it thank you!

well i dont want to make a stop motion video i just want to condense a long video to speed it up
Joeyyyyyy08 2 years ago
You can adjust the speed of clips in iMovie. See episode 317
macmostvideo 2 years ago
any suggestions?
Joeyyyyyy08 2 years ago
Maybe istopmotion? I don't make stop motion animation, so I can't really recommend anything.
macmostvideo 2 years ago
how can i do timelaspe?
Joeyyyyyy08 2 years ago
iMovie isn't really made for that. There are some good 3rd-party stop motion tools for the Mac you may want to try instead.

What is the Mac you get with a Mac book pro 9 or 10???

How do I do flashing colors? Like in some of Supermac18's videos? I have iMovie 09.
fliparoo990 2 years ago
Not sure what you mean, exactly, but you may need an animation or special effects program to do something like that.
macmostvideo 2 years ago
Quick question. Can you pan and zoom clips? Like choose where to pan and zoom?
JTEchicago 2 years ago
Not clips, no. You'll ned Final Cut for that.
macmostvideo 2 years ago
Ok nice, thanks man. One more, is there still that map demonstration feature on final cut?
JTEchicago 2 years ago
Not sure.

Experiment. Just use the "Share" menu and try Medium or High.

Very good. Could you do a vid on clip editing in 09? I understand there are a few new methods.
blueshadowdude 3 years ago
it looks like the stabilization didn't make any effect at all. Did you already adjust the setting of it to maximum stabilization?
