  • This is my favorite Polonaise. I envied all the students who were chosen to play it. Then after all recitals were done I practiced it myself. It was my favorite piece to play!

  • Very nice. Beautiful performance. The Chopin Polonaises are marvelous. You do them justice!

  • @boomboomdrums Thank you for your comment. I am so sorry to reply too late.

I was quite busy. But I am pleased very much. I love this polonaise.

So I will play it again in the future. Thanks !

  • Beautiful! Echt mooi !

  • @anitavervarcke Thank you so much for your comment!!! I am so sorry to reply too late.

  • Beautiful interpretation, the man himself would be moved I'm sure

  • @QuantumRevelations Thank you for your comment! I am really pleased to hear that♪

  • Flawless performer standard!

  • @FansofGrace Thanks!

  • I enjoyed this! You combine strength with sensitivity, which somehow seems more "Chopinesque". Thanks for posting!

  • @ravenswylde Thank you for your comment. I am glad very much. It was 5-6 years ago, so if I play it now, something changed maybe.

  • I've just leaned it. great playing

  • @stagesix6 Thank you for your comment. It is a great piece, I love it.

Please upload yours when you are ready. I want to listen to yours.

  • This piece IS a military, so it needs to be played with POWER.

There wasn't much power. but overall, well done.

  • @kouriskiii most of the piece is written in such a way that (at least to me as well as everyone i've met who is into classical music) puts an emphasis on the 'march-like' quality of the music rather than any other aspect of military. also 'military polonaise' is merely a nickname.

  • I am a Taiwanese girl, two months later I have a test. However, I do not know the first classical music skills, in reading your movie, let me inspire great! I am sincere with you to say''thank you''.

  • @gloria29292 Thank you, Gloria.

I am so sorry to reply too late because of I have been in quite busy days.

I hold on my ex-students concert coming Sunday in Japan.

I am Japanese, but living in Hong Kong.

I am really pleased to read your comment.

Please make your effort! You are young, so you can do anything!

    Keep it up!

  • @clinch6194 Thank you!

  • I just started this song, do you have any tips?

  • This is actually pretty good, the piano is a little flat which probably makes u guys not hear certain parts clearly.

  • Thank you for your comment.

It was about 5 years ago, so I don't remember the situation clearly.

Maybe, the tuning was a bit flat, usually the tuning is flat in Hong Kong.

Maybe my performance was not clear, or maybe video recording had something wrong.

    Anyway, thanks a lot.

  • Lol you're very welcome Penne! I especially like your Clair de Lune and I am working on that piece right now currently writing down the fingering so that I can play it fast and naturally like yours. I just had one question though, how is Hong Kong?? Thx.

  • I am so sorry to reply too late.

Hong Kong is too hot and high humidity, but I like to live here.

Even though there is air pollution and too much people.

Apartment and education fee is quite expensive, but food is cheaper and I can get Japanese food, too.

    Anyway, too hot here.

  • the tuning is perfect (according to yamaha clavinova that i have)

  • wow beautiful articulation and dynamics and control and whatever there is to compliment on :D

your arms do look a little too tense but very nice sound

  • That was a very beautiful performance! My teacher gave this piece to me just yesterday. I only hope I can have such a clean sound and great control over the piano when I have to perform it.

  • the best performance of polonaise op.40 i've ever heard... you are awesome

  • impressive.....i commend you

  • very beauiful, i'm hoping to be starting this piece soon and i'll keep this in mind :)

  • Are you not a professional? I appreciate your work. If you want listen to Nuccio Trotta's rendition. He's an unknown pianist but he studied with great pianists as Aldo Ciccolini and I think that's a pianist worth listening in to. That's why I say everyone's reading this comment: please watch Nuccio Trotta playing (seven65's channel) Thanks!

  • not proffessional, but very good.i only think your rhythm is not good.tempo always changes and the triplets are too fast.

  • Quite Beautifully played. My only criticism would be to be a little less generous with the rubato. I know Chopin can be hard to read for rubato, but it seemed just a tiny bit excessive in this interpretation. I'm just nitpicking though, overall it was excellent

  • Extremely beautiful, work of a true master. I am currently starting this piece, I'm glad that after listening to this, I have an idea of how to play this correctly.

Hope someday I can play like that!

  • Good performance: heartful, warm and enthusiastic approach. Bravo!

  • i like this interpretation

  • Love your tempo, it allows me to hear the piece. And the important notes are very clearly brought out without banging. Nice job. I just started on this piece and I'll keep your performance in mind while I am working on it.

  • I enjoyed your performance. It seemed to me that the triplets in the left hand were too fast.

  • The main theme sounds very much like something Tchaikovsky would turn out to write!

  • I just found your performance of this piece today as I was looking for one to recommend to a student of mine who is preparing it. It is incredibly well-presented. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • omfg

    awesome!!

    dude youre very good (Y)

  • Your approach and mastery was amazing! It made me go back in time some 25 years ago when I played this very same classical great! Keep up the great work and Master!

  • This is a most beautiful rendition of this song. Flawless and full of emotion. Bravo!

  • great job! the only problem for me is that its too slow, and the differences between the f's ff's and the fff's and barely audible.

  • wow... i wish i can play dis song lik u... i can play dis song 2, but a bit slower tempo =) fantastic job!!!

  • Did you really mean that I'm a hurtful person??? I didn't mean to be hurtful.

Anyway, I love your other things that I have seen on youtube!!

  • NO! NO! NO! I am so sorry, I missed to type the word. not hurtful, I wanted to type "heartful". I did hurt you, really sorry to you.

  • No, you didn't heart me. I really enjoy the fact that you take the time to respond respond. Are you a pianist by profession? I've become addicted to your playing, especially the Claire de lune. I listen to it about once a week and love it each time.

  • Hi! I'm not a professional pianist. I'm a piano student, a piano teacher, and an amateur pianist. Your comment made me so happy. Thanks again.

  • You're not a professional pianist? You play extraordianrily well. I came upon your performance by accident, and I enjoyed it very much.

  • Sorry, it certainly does sound like a polonaise and it is much better that I could ever do. I just pulled it out and tried to play it. Disregard my comment...PLEASE!!!!!

  • Please do not say sorry. I don't mind it. I appriciate it, you are so kind, warm, & hurtful person.

  • I love the coloring. My only problem is that the F & FFs are missing in the C section (i.e., the 3rd section). It sounds nice, but not like a polonaise.

  • Thank you for your comment.

    >but not like a polonaise.

    hahaha!

  • forse accelera troppo in alcune fasi o è impressione mia?

  • And i don't know why people aren't playing it on the chopin's contests....

  • Probably because it is known as a classic piece to learn instead of one for technical difficulty. It is a reasonably difficult piece but it is not as well recognized as the grande polonaises.

  • It's my favorite copin's piece. I've playing it since 12 years. The only think i didn't like is the different time of every "part". You should play it with "time controller"....you will see.... what i mean..., chopin and bach were both genius mathematics....

  • Wow! I am very impressed. Since I am now working on this piece, your performance will be very helpful as well as instructive to me. Thank you for posting.

  • Thank you for watching it & your comment. I'm so glad if it's helpful for you. Good luck!

  • Good technique. I was impressed by how little pedal you used, especially in the D major section, and let the chords speak for themselves!

  • Thank you for watching it and your comment! Too much words for me. i'm so glad! Thank you again!

  • Musical, good touch & excellent piano.

There is too much rhytemic freedom on this military polonaise. (speed up & down)

Those triplets in baer 4,9,10,14 etc are played too fast. (The two sets of triplet in bar 14 should be

    identical.)

Please differentiate the playing of bar 41, 43 to bar 45 since they are different.

Hope the above advice to be helpful.

  • thank you for your kind advices.

  • Not many people are able to play Chopin with as much clarity as you are. I've heard several butchered performances of this same Polonaise. I really like this performance.

  • jfeucht, thank you again. The polonaise is very popular with small boys learning the piano. I have a small concert for boys coming Sunday, so I will play this one for them.

  • This has to be thee best interpretation of Military Polonaise I've ever heard. I once played this piece in the American Guild of Music competitions 5 years ago. I agree that it is the best of the polonaises. Your chords are so crisp and clean, definately what Chopin was trying to convey with the Military sound. Anways, keep up the great work, your awesome!

  • Thank you for your comment. It's too much for me. I love this polonaise and no.1 polonaise. yes, I continue to study hard. I love piano!

  • woo thanks for this great video, im learnin this piece now and ur video reli helped me in a couple of places cos its completely flawless. once again i have only heard vladimir ashkenazy play this and once again u have the edga over mr.ashkenazy. :)

  • Thank you for words of generous praise. Of course Mr.Ashkenazy plays great. I also like Mr.Kreinev. You can listen to his Ballade in the following site.

    http://www.classicalarchives.com/artists/krainev.html

  • wonderful interpretation! the 3rd section is just superb.

    thanks for posting!

  • Really ? I am so glad ! thank you very much !!!

Maybe I will play this one next month too. I love it more than no.6.

  • This performance is very colorful and flawless. I started learning this once, but Chopin is just not my thing. But I can appreciate listening to a good performance now and then.

  • Thank you for your comment, oh, you are learning this one now ! So one day can I listen to your performance here ? I love this piece and No.1 in polonases by Chopin.

  • Kickass! One of the better poloanaisse's in my opinion.

  • Thanks your comment, I like this one and the first polonase. That's all ! enough for me! haha.
