  • Hi Iko, can you do a demo about the thread earrings? I can't figure out how on how to join the frame at the top and how to attached the coil.

  • @2winplay Hi 2win, not really...I can't see it in my mind's eye so a demo would probably give me trouble - but what I will do is show you another way of doing it. Okay? Best.

  • Iko, How do you attach the beads to the earring? Do you attach the coil to the earring before you start to thread?

  • @2winplayHi, the beads are detachable - I put them on at the end. I thread the seed beads onto a straight piece of wire with a teeny tiny L bend at the bottom so beads don't fall off - and make a loop at the top. Then I get a jump ring (wide enough to fit around the part of the earring where the earhook is attached) I thread it through the beaded wire with the loop and slip it on over the earhook so it hangs down in the middle of the earring.

  • You are wonderful!!!! I have been trying to make these earrings just for myself because I love them. I want to hook them up with my wardrobe. I can't find the colored beads. What do you suggest?

  • @2winplay Thanks a lot, happy to share. The colored beads might be seed beads like the bronze and silver ones - I bought them ages ago as a multi strand necklace. I am also using tiny colored glass hexagon beads on a project you can get those from hobby shop for sure. You would need to use a high gauge wire to thread those. Also check out Walmart kid craft section for micro plastic tubing for weaving etc. Cut into little sections and place between silver beads. If they still sell them

  • Hi again! I have tried to do this with embroidery thread but it is so labor intensive trying to separate the strands to get ONE to use in earring. I notice your title indicates you use "silk thread"....where would I find that? Is it already single-stranded or do I have to separate? Thanks again for sharing!

  • Glad you like this - they are very satisfying to make.

  • OMG...you are such a wonderful teacher!!! This was sooooo easy to follow. Thank you for this and PLEASE keep them coming!

  • @craftmomma3 Thanks, your enthusiasm makes me happy. I like user friendly stuff and I'm always looking to simplify things, especially my life. Life is too short and time too fleeting to be complicated.

  • love these earrings! They are wonderful, you are very creative and skill full. May u be blessed. I was about to begin my jewellery making course after i finished my studies but didn't work out my way. Soon God willing. How long you been jewellery making? My making is basic and a little beyond, I have soo much to learn yet.
