That's brilliant. Really good recording. I was at the Parkhead gig, which I think was the week before. They had an amazing set of lasers which covered the whole sky at the end of this. Plus Alex Harvey, Littlefeet, the Outlaws. An amazing day. Also, about the loudest thing I've heard before or since.
What a fantastic day out! The Who were amazing. We ran a coach down from Gloucester. Advertised it at one of our XTC discos and got a bus full. The booze situation was a bit of a problem until Steve threw a rucksack of beer over the turnstiles. I caught it and ran off into the crowd. Steve came through in his own time! Anyone on our bus from Glos??
I have to admit that I've never seen The Who live, as I'm way too young to have ever seen them, which is probably why they aren't my favorite band of all time, although they are a close second to Led Zeppelin. But what happens every time I listen to a live recording of this song, it happens around 7:15 of this one, when the synthesizer starts going, that energy starts to build up inside you, then Keith starts going, and then it all builds up to that scream... I don't think anything like that ev
A gang of us saved our tokens from The Sun, hired a minibus and went down for the day. Fantastic memories, where are you all now, Tony & Barbara Tippets, Judith Pegler et al. Sorry cannot remeber all your names.
I too saw them on this tour. Anaheim Stadium with Little Feat (when Lowell George was alive) March 6th, 1976. It was one of the peak moments of my life. Though the concert seemed short. Especially after along day of waiting around to get in and the through the opening bands (except Little Feat)! They didn't really play anything that you wouldn't expect. Maybe I was a little disappointed. But I got a bootleg album from the show back then that was awesome.

I was there. Still got the ticket stub, still got the tour programme, still got the bootleg album, still got the memories. Great day, great performance from the boys and a great backing line up; Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Outlaws, Little Feat, Widowmaker, Streetwalkers et al. Plus the Who laser light show. Cheers for posting this!
@GETAUSERNAMEGETALIFE I Still got the black and white bootleg album too! Pete's face drawn on the cover sheet! Hand written label on the LP. I bought mine in London in 1982.
@zbgb68 Great stuff! I remember that the police were stopping people taking alcohol into the ground and there was a huge pile of booze stacked up outside. Some people decided to take advantage of it instead of going in. I expect that they thought they could see The Who anytime in the future. More fool them!

"...it must have been the 1976 tour and that was probably the peak of our playing. That '76 tour we were happy with every gig"
