Interesting how you managed to match so many of the captions with the appropriate music - though having "On Ilkley Moor Baht 'At" playing over the Granada caption may have insulted a few million people west of the Pennines...
@Woollylinnet Point taken! The problem was I gave each slide equal airtime - or I risked upsetting just about everyone - but I also tried to match appropriate music with the slides. Turned out to be rather tricky! Many thanks for commenting.
@rgelen It's called "This Is England" by Ronald Hamner, performed by The Westway Studio Orchetra and was available on the (now sold-out) Winchester Hospital Radio compilation "Watch With Teacher". It was used as a piece of ITV Schools interval music in the Autumn of 1972.
@stupidrubbish I'm absolutely amazed that this *wasn't* a piece of startup music. The last few bars belong behind an on-screen clock ticking up to 9:30AM - straight out of ATV's "Sound and Vision".
The Channel TV caption was taken from an off-air screen-cap. It's accurate with respect to that. However, Channel TV almost certainly used more than one IBA caption design over the years.
The STV was also taken from an off-air screen-cap that someone sent me. However, it wasn't at all clear if the background was navy blue or black, so I plumped for black. However I'm sure STV used more than one caption.
Many thanks for taking the time to comment RadioSix - your comments were very helpful.
Yes, they did, but the TVS and IBA logos were a token gesture at the top of the transparency and a programme menu was keyed underneath, so I didn't bother to include it. I expect the first TVS startup is on YouTube somewhere and it is included on there.

Lovely piece of work as always... but what's the piece of music?

@mikeknell You're absolutely right. I'm even more amazed that it *was* a piece of schools interval music, where it doesn't seem to belong at all.

All beautiful work, so I hate to niggle, but the STV caption wasn't quite right - the genuine original was over an IBA-blue background.
The Channel TV caption didn't look right either - my receollection of that one was that the IBA cap was less elaborate.

Nice collection, however can I ask, where's the one for TVS, did they ever have an IBA slide?
