I am surprised this song did not tie with Frida. Frida was the best that year but this song is about equal in perfection. Defiantly should have placed higher :/
The dutch song De Troubadour of Lenny kuhr was the best song and the best performer in 1969 and won welldeserved. Frida Boccara did had to be the second and Italy maybe the third.But the spanish entry Vivo Cantando was one of the worst songs of1969 and deserved to ended on one of the last places.
Maybe the best Italian singer in the ESC but the song's rather nothing special. My favourits are Portugal and Finalnd, followed by Monaco, Switzerland and Ireland. After that in my list are Spain and UK and then I can't decide, really. Yugoslavia and Luxembourg are sharing last porbably.
Italy had a very beautiful song and a gorgeous voice as well, very similar in talent with Frida`s. I am very surprised that Italy did not make it to tie with France and Spain instead of those horrid songs from GB (and their even more horrid singer Lulu) and from the netherlands (not as bad as Lulu but not all that good either)
Since I rooted for Frida, France should have come in first, Italy and Spain tied for 2nd. fridaforever!

the Juries in 1969 and even failed to get
major points. Despite of that fact, it is definitely the Best Song of 1969 and one of
the best ballads from Eurovision.
